“Porte de la Lienne” disposes of a number of guest rooms in a former lodge that has maintained its characteristic features and dates from about 1860. At that time the premises were built as a hotel to accommodate both tourists and visitors to the ferromanganese mine-industry in times past. The building has retained its characteristic features since. Porte de la Lienne is situated on the River Ambleve at the confluent of the River Lienne.
We had a fantastic weekend at this B&B where we stayed for a track day at Spa. Frank and his wife could not have been more helpful as we had a race car with us. The B&B is lovely, clean and comfortable and the restaurant was fantastic. They even gave us a packed breakfast as we had to leave early for a ferry. We are booked to come back already.

We had booked to stay at Shamrock cottage for one night on our return from Switzerland, we were doing a motorcycle tour and stayed in places one night each. Immediately we saw the cottage we all fell in love with it, idyllic location, beautiful building, perfect. Upon meeting our host and hostess, we were made most welcome and shown to our respective rooms. The inside was as stunning as the outside, a real compliment to the hard work put in by the owners to make any stay here an unforgettable experience. We were made to feel "at home" from the first minute, to the very last. The beds were excellent, the bathroom was an attraction on its own and breakfast was wonderful to. We may have only had one night at Shamrock Cottage, but we will never, ever forget how nice it was.

Stayed at Domaine de Vieux Chene Saturday 28 September We chose the Vieux Chene as a convenient staging post on our way down to Munich for Oktoberfest as it is about a 3 hour drive from Dunkirk Things got off to a worrying start when we arrived and everything was locked up. Stephane, the owner appeared from round the side to greet us; Stephane speaks Flemish, we don't. After a few minutes of schoolboy French, German and mime, we realised that we were too early to check in and that we must come back after 3. We went exploring for a couple of hours before returning to check in. Once inside, any reservations about our initial reception evaporated; the house is brand new and beautifully furnished and our room was incredible with a big comfy bed and views out across the valley. The bathroom is all black slate with a great shower. We went out for dinner but on our return we met Patricia, Stephanes wife who speaks perfect English and French. There is a family/guest room with a fridge with soft and alcoholic drinks and tea and coffee making facilities and wifi is available throughout Breakfast is served in the family dining room and is delicious and plentiful. The only minor issue we had is that they cannot process debit/credit cards which means a cash transfer for the deposit (50%) which my bank charged £10 for and payment of the balance in cash which wasn't a problem There isn't a lot to do in Rahier, it is a very small village even by Ardennes standards but it is a short drive from Grand Coo waterfalls and the amusingly titled Plopsa theme park with Trois Ponts just a bit further on We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it's just a shame it was only one night

Had a great stay at this place. Spotlessly clean, friendly staff we were left to our own devices. Hot showers, lounge and dining area, comfortable beds, nice garden at the rear. Would stay again. If you are considering this for the F1 it is a bit out - no way to get there other than car. Restaurant nearby but too far to walk. Nice little coffee shop over the road open 7.00am - 7.00pm
