We had wandered around Marple doing a bit of shopping. Bit confusing as to whether it was waitress or counter ordering. Took a menu off a customer who was paying and realised the system. Ordered and were served by a pleasant lass. Food and drink came quickly and was excellent. Friendly atmosphere that catered for a varied clientele. No problems about returning. Note that some reviews are not complimentary but saw none of the problems quoted.

Town Street Fryer has always been an excellent local chippy. It changed hands recently and sadly the standard of the food has nosedived. The fish was satisfactory, the mushy peas awful and the chips were just inedible. All 4 adults having the same meal were unhappy with the quality of the food. Walked passed the shop, when closed, a day or two later and was overwhelmed by the smell of rotting fish. Such a great shame as this used to be 5 star, now only 1.

Fab new vegan menu with lots of choices. I went for the caramelised Onion Tart on this occasion which was lovely, although could have had something else with it to be a little more substantial. I look forward to trying out the other dishes! We also took our dog and sat in the garden alongside the river, The Midland is a great local pub.Hi Emma,Thank you so much for leaving a positive review! We look forward to welcoming you back soon to try some more tasty options from our vegan menu.Rob

Went today for tea and cake, was recommended so had high hopes.Service was terrible. The gals waiting the tables were too busy gassing to actually serve.Ordered a mille feuille to share with my love. It did not start well, picked the strawberry off the top and it was covered in dirt. Gross, not a good sign for the rest of the food that goes through the kitchen if you can't even wash a strawberry that's still covered in pesticides and possible excrement from the local fauner. The tea, twinnings, was nice.

Traditional English Pub by the canal with lots of walks nearby. Sunday Roasts, Quiz nights, 4 real ales, premium lagers and spirits and fine wines.
Group of us went in for a meal. It is advised to book. Sat inside. Reasonable wait for food. Quaint decor and cosy eating area. Didnt sit outside but I'm sure itd be nice on a sunny day. Food was satisfactory. Can only comment on my own meal, which was a poor excuse of a veggie burger. It seems they've found the cheapest option and thought that will do. Wouldn't eat here again myself, but that's just personal preference. Would go for a drink after a walk. Sorry for the delay in responding, but have had no access to the account. You were offered a choice of veggie burgers and a vegetable lasagne, but you requested a plain burger and that is what you got.

We visited The Foresters on a Saturday lunchtime, and chose it because it was equidistant between three couples who meet occasionally for a catch-up; also because of the good reviews on TA. We were immediately made to feel right at home and the service throughout our stay was excellent. We all had a main course and a pudding; main meals were tasty and portions big enough to make you wonder if dessert was such a good idea, although we were served two portions of pie with chips, and thinking that it came with mash (actually thereâs a choice but we werenât asked) weâd ordered extra fat chips (which were good, but not so good that I didnât want the mash I was expecting!) Puddings were good old school classics - sticky toffee pudding, crumble, lemon sponge - and none of them were disappointing. I have a feeling weâll be meeting up there again.

This place has grown on me! Different to Libbys but equally enjoyable. Good coffee and lovely staff. A good selection of cakes and a decent deli counter. Must come and try for food but a classy place!

We were left disapointed by our evening meal, Our group had looked forward to eating out at this restaurant as it had been recommended Service could be vastly improved.Timings were all over late serving and very sparadic, Food qualityt the fish dishes were all fresh and pleasantly presented but could have had more seasoning..Overall the dishes were of reasonable standard and would retun.

Peruga at woodheys A beautiful restaurant and venue with mind blowing views of rolling hills set within a rural/urban environment. Perfect for lunch or your wedding!
Had a lovely lunch, well cooked and good menu choices, gorgeous restaurant views Friendly and attentive waitress. Enhjoyed the meal but the restaurant was chilly, could have done with more heating on. I suppose we could have asked for another table away from the windows!
