We stopped by on a day trip around Lake Pepin. The tarts are beautiful and live up to their reputation. The lemon tart has the perfect amount of tartness. The chocolate and nuts are nicely balanced on the turtle tart and the chocolate is smooth and creamy. The line is definitely worth the wait and the garden is a great place to enjoy a treat.

Stopped at the Harbor View Cafe in Pepin, WI on Friday for lunch. We were there at 5 minutes to 11 am - they were open at 11. The place filled up almost immediately, the locals obviously know what a fantastic find this is. Lots of wonderful seafood on the menu, an impressive wine list for a place this size and at reasonable prices and tasty deserts.

Four of us for a late breakfast had a variety of things to eat. The people we were with were well known to the proprietress and this element of local life made things amusing. I can seriously recommend the hash and the coffee, quite an exceptional meandering of tastes.
You can sit inside or outside, outside is very pleasant indeed. The lavatory is clean although just possibly a little tricky if you were in a wheelchair?
There's a contiguous sort of shop area and an ice cream place, which we were advised to visit but for some utterly misguided reason, didn't.
If you're passing through Stockholm, I'd go here. If heading south on the main road towards Wabasha, turn left and it's just up on the left.

On our drive back to the Twin Cities from Lacrosse, we stopped in for a piece of the famous pie. I had Apple, with a crisp topping. $6 for a slice of pie, in a very small town in rural Wisconsin, seemed pretty ridiculous. But worse yet was the amount of sugar dumped into this poor slice of pie. Granted, the serving was large. But the sugary taste was horrible. It was hard to even notice that it was apple filling. Luckily I did not ask for ice cream, or whipped cream, on top !

I was looking for a coffeeshop on the way through Lake City on a cold day. This location was one of the few we could find. The south side of the building is the coffeeshop/restaurant. Choices are similar to a Caribou or Starbucks. The roll and pastry selection is great (try the glazed lemon poppyseed muffins). However, the only creamer selections are the fake stuff. Come on folks, if you are shooting for a quality atmosphere, ya gotta do the little things!
Comfortable seating scattered about, a selection of games in one corner, an electronic "fireplace", must be wifi from the number of millenials glued to their electronics, and plenty of windows, the place is comfortable. I could do without the large screen TV on the wall, it detracts from the rest of the ambiance....

I love this place. The folks who work here makes some excellent sandwiches and they truly care that you enjoy it. I do wish they were open more hours but it's open most of the times I want to go there. Super friendly staff and fantastic food!

If I could give this restaurant a zero, I would. We were very much looking forward to going here per the reviews. When we got there we were seated right away. Twenty minutes went by, there were 2 waitresses in our section and not one of them even offered us water. People after us were being helped and even though they clearly saw us there, they did nothing. We finally got up and left. It was ridiculous!!

Gelly's is the only full bar in Stockholm! We're open for any meal of the day with daily specials. Friday, come try our lightly battered Atlantic cod! Friday and Saturday we offer Swedish pancakes and real Wisconsin maple syrup for $5. Sunday brunch is available from 9-noon. Don't forget to try our homemade bloody Mary! May all who enter as guests, leave as friends!
Food is great. Waitresses are awesome. However, The owner, Rebecca Pope, is the worst, most unprofessional business owner I've seen in my life. She cannot run the place nor treat her employees professionally. I've seen it and I don't even work there.

Chickadee Cottage Cafe, Lake City, Mn On the Great River Road
Nine women friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our luncheon date at the Chickadee Cottage Cafe. That's what it is, a cute cottage, lovely decorating and beautiful flowers in the gardens outside. We were there for lunch which they start serving at 11 a.m. (breakfast is before that time) We got there early as we were concerned we would not have time to enjoy our meal and make our next event, which was a paddle boat ride. It was no problem, as they had our table all ready. We ordered our drinks and the gals shopped a little, that's right, they have lots of cute things for sale, and we were allowed to order a little early, which turned out time wise just perfect. Most of us had their famous chicken salad, which is served with 3 slices of banana bread. MMMMM. Everyone agreed everything was delicious. The service was just great too. We will do a special ladies luncheon again soon.
