Little Stayton has some fine Koreans serving Japanese teriyaki and sushi. What?
It’s true! This little converted gas station doesn’t look like much from outside. Well, it also doesn’t look like much from inside, either. You order at a counter and amazingly cheerful and friendly staff help you sort out the menu. Later they bring it to your table.
We started with some pot stickers which was probably the least successful part of the meal. They were mushy inside and were only saved by the tasty accompanying sauce. Then we got the main course. One of us got the chicken teriyaki with veggies and the other got the rib-eye teriyaki with salad. Both had a pile of meat and it was all super tasty.
What a great little place in charming Stayton!

Unique cafe in turn of the century historic house. Serving coffee, espresso, and at least 2 dozen varieties of loose leaf tea. Award winning scones, muffins, pastries, cakes, pies, and other pastries and desserts all made in-house. Breakfast plates with Omega 3 Brown Eggs. Unique and creative sandwiches, panini, and made from scratch soups and fresh made to order salads. Also serving High Tea.
My wife and I traveled to Stayton for a wedding and discovered this quaint little BNB. So happy we did! The owner took care of us from check in through check out, always attentive to our comfort and needs. The accommodations were warm and comfortable, just like being home. We stayed three nights and enjoyed our first experience in a BNB.
We also ate a late afternoon lunch in the cafe. Same owner; same great service. The coffee selections are outstanding (and tasty), the desserts are over the top, and the meatloaf sandwich we split was delicious.
All in all, an outstanding time at Gardner House!

This is the best restaraunt in the Stayton/Sublimity area (well, not that it has that much competition, but still). The amazing breadsticks are famous in the area, with good reason. The wonderfully chewy bread is tasteful and intertwined with great ingredients like pepperoni, pineapple, olives, cheese, etc. Not only that, the rest of the menu is good, too. Enormous and delicious cinnamon rolls are served in the morning, and a range of beverages are available.
All of this is packaged in a cozy, highly decorated, unique little store with a separate section for coffee. Hours are extremely limited, though, so plan ahead.

Right from the get-go, my visit to this establishment was pathetic. No one was at the counter upon my entrance, and my presence was finally I am acknowledged by an employee walking past, mumbling, "Hello, welcome to Dairy Queen". It took me a few seconds to realize he was communicating with me!
Then, I took my order, and afterwards, a worker who obviously was not happy about his place of work, delivered a line asking if I would like to donate a dollar to a charity Dairy Queen was supporting. I barely understood what he was saying, as his speech was very fast and unenthusiastic. My order of a Blizzard was completed shortly, and was upside down thick, but would not of remained so for much longer, as it began to melt very quickly. The quality of the dessert was low, And I could have gotten higher quality ice cream from a multitude of other places for the same price. In short, this was a very disappointing dessert experience.

What a nice little diner here in Aumsville. Awesome burgers and the shakes are delivered in the tin with plenty to share or enjoy seconds and thirds! Marionberry is my favorite. They have all the favorite diner menu items too. Stop in here next time you are on your way to or from Central Oregon! It's not far off the highway and well worth it.

Popped in here this afternoon and had a great lunch. The panini was the best I've ever had. Roast beef, provolone, feta, olives, and roasted red peppers. A side of Caesar salad was also delicious. Quiet atmosphere and nice people running it. We'll go back for sure.

Usual Starbucks offerings. Nice that they are usually open the same holidays when Safeway is open. Convenient to grab an espresso and enjoy it while I shop. Seems to have a high rate of turnover for staff, but manager Larry has been a friendly constant. Service is often not great (except Larry).

Excellent food at a reasonable price. Looked at the reviews (unfavorable) for restaurants in Stayton. Drive the mile to Sublimity for a pleasant surprise. My wife and I while hiking at Silver Falls, had four meals there. You can take-out or eat there. If you like breakfast, don't forget the biscuits and gravy!

I have never had an unsatisfactory meal at this restaurant. They have very good Mexican food and their wait staff is wonderful. They just recently expanded and will offer more room for large gatherings. Always a good place to eat!
