After first visiting this restaurant last year I returned here and my point of view itâs different now, not sure if they changed the chef or the cook, but itâs deliciousTo be honest itâs, today, one of the best vegetarian restaurants in Porto Alegre.Very nice options in the buffet, decent price, good deserts. There is plenty of parking the reference street.

The central market or the fish of a city is always mandatory stop. Porto Alegre is no different. Building in 1869, has suffered fires and revolutions, but keep standing, serving the population. And one of its greatest traditions and attractions is the Gambrinus Restaurant. For the site is a return to the past, finding some ghosts around there circulam.E for the tourist is a way to understand the culture of our people, through cooking. River fish (the city is the margin of an estuary), the gaucho cooking dishes like beef jerky or, in winter, the best mocotó the Rio Grande. It simple without being simplistic

Constantino Cafe provides since 2005 the best combination of Mediterranean restaurants and Parisian cafes. The ambiance is cozy and the mood is young and laidback. There is an external deck, located in front of the place, and tables on the sidewalk, great
It has become a tradition for my husband and I to go to this restaurant during Christmas week in order to celebrate with a couple that are long term very good friends of us.Year after year, Constantino continues having outstanding dishes and a personalised, friendly and effective service. This year, I had one of their small pans ("panelinha", in Portuguese) with mushrooms and leek. It was amazingly delicious. They have a good selection of wines and Portuguese "Pasteis de Nata" as an option among others for dessert. To complete the experience the restaurant is very charming, specially in the back yard, which is my favourite area.

Good ambiance, clean decoration and large spaces. I've asked the special sandwich of the day, which was a ribs with white cheese on the ciabatta (the bread was really fresh). I really enjoyed it, but I've saw the burgers and they seem really tasty too!! I will certainly ask a burger the next time I go there.

Some friends from Porto Alegre brought my husband and I to the Raven Restaurant at the "Cidade Baixa" a bohemian neighbourhood, in Porto Alegre. The place reminds an old European tavern and its located in a nice renovated old house from that area.It was our first time going to this restaurant but I am sure it will not be the last. Their cuisine is outstanding. The chef is Julio Cefis, an Argentinian that migrated to Brazil and is using all his cooking experience to offer high quality steaks with Brazilian ingredients for side dishes prepared in a delicious way.I had the entrecot Raven, which is accompanied by a pure of "mandioquinha" (a type of root similar to manioc) and grilled tomatoes. It was really goo! They have also a good wine list and a friendly and good service. The chef likes to go around the tables to greet costumers and he is a good chat.

I love Mexican food and I have tons of lovely experiences with it in Mexico, in the United States and some other parts of the world. I know it's tough to be authentic, but there's a an expectation of minimum authenticity, right? Guacamole is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Porto Alegre. That's NOT to say it's close to great at all. Good stuff: the grilled food, spices, the service, and decoration. The tortillas are weird (maybe hard to find good ones here). The biggest disappointment for me was actually their guacamole - my god! What was that?! And their chimichurri?!? Have they ever seen decent ones before?!? Oh well. It made me miss a good Mex. I was pretty happy to find a fondue (!!!) of mixed meats, though.

Don't expect to find the "real" german food, here. They have great food, fantastic service but it is not the original. They have adapted the recipes to the local style and they have been successful. The food is really nice and you have a lot of options. Prices are according to the quality.
