The food is good and the place remains opened the entire night during weekends, which is very useful if you’re leaving any party for instance. However, the service is mostly bad specially if you’re sitting in the back. There are two older man working there that just don’t care about the customer. On the other hand, there’s also a guy on the back who is really nice, guess you just have to be lucky.

One's dining options are rather limited in Passo Fundo, but we had a very good meal at Don Gentil on Sunday night. Sunday night is often family pizza night in Brazil so the place was busy and many people were celebrating birthdays. We arrived at 7:30pm, a little on the early by Brazil standards but by 9pm the restaurant was full. I had a good salad and pizza while my colleagues each had steaks. All of us enjoyed our meals. The wine list was limited but surprisingly good mainly featuring wines from Argentina and Chile

The restaurant serves very good traditional Italian pastas and young chicken (galetos). Some of the pasta sauces are creative and are very tasty. The best feature of the restaurant is the excellent selection of Brazilian vines that they serve at retail prices without the usual restaurant markup. The excelent Brazilian vines I tasted as the restaurant were the Pizzato Alicante Bouschet Reserva, the Pizzato Verve Grand Reserva, and the Boscato Melot.
