Reviews on Mediterranean food in Rio de Janeiro, State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Commonly called “blessed by God” by locals, Rio de Janeiro is nestled between world famous beaches and beautiful mountains, and presided over by the statue of Christ the Redeemer. Its nickname of “Marvellous City” is easy to understand after seeing all this buzzing city has to offer. There are attractions that cater to any style - everything from visiting historical landmarks and important cultural centres to relaxing on the beach to enjoying the great nightlife scene. Neighbourhoods like Ipanema, Urca, Botafogo, Santa Teresa and Rio’s downtown will always have a way to surprise you. As a special treat, go to Arpoador to watch the sun set and take part in the local custom applauding the sun, thanking it for another stunning day in Rio de Janeiro.

We came here just after 6:30pm when they open and there was not 1 single person in the place. We were asked if we had made a reservation, to which replying no, we were told we had to sit outside because there was nothing available inside. There was not a SINGLE person there and they have an upstairs and a downstairs. So we sat down. Looked at the menu. And then sat waiting to order for about 10 mins. The girl sat outside was on her phone and did not look at us. The 3 staff members inside were stood around the bar did not look at us. So we got up and left. I had previously read comments saying this place had loads of vegan options (i.e. vegan lasagne and vegan pasta) neither of which I could find on the menu. There was 1 vegan option. The whole menu seemed a bit overpriced. Hello Sophia! We had full reservations at the lounge for 7 pm and 8 pm and were waiting for the other customers to arrive. As for vegan dishes, we have several options, only vegan lasagna is no longer on the menu, as we replaced it with vegan palm and banana moqueca.

This restaurant is located in the Sheraton Rio Hotel which is my home-away-from-home when I travel to Rio. Per TripAdvisor, the hotel has two of the top rated restaurants in the city, Bene and LâEtoile. Gustavo was our server and is wonderful. We had pasta specifically, I had the Gnocchi but requested it with Alfredo sauce instead of the sauce listed on the menu. It was the best Gnocchi that Iâve had outside of Rome, Italy. Itâs a beautiful venue so come and enjoy and ask for Gustavo!Hello AJP,Thank you for your comment, It's a pleasure for us to be your home-away-from-home, we take the gastronomy seriously and we fulfill our commitment to offer authentic Italian cuisine.I will pass on your comments to the Bene team and look forward to welcoming you again soon!Greetings,Marina Lanes

After 5 years living in Rio only now I had the chance to try this restaurant and worth it. The food was marvelous and service very nice. The maitre, Mr Edson, was very kind and gave the right amount of attention to each customer. Very unusual to have this such level of service in this city. It was a very pleasant surprise the experience of having dinner with my wife in such cozy place.

On December 30th, my children, me, and our wives decided to celebrate before the new year, since we would probably be separated. We decided to have lunch at Adega Santiago, a beautiful and pleasant restaurant located in the Village Mall, in Barra da Tijuca.I already knew the place, and it was a lovely afternoon, when we delight with the couvert of salted almonds and olives, great white wines, and octopus â a Lagareiroâ and cod âGomes de Sáâ.

"Casa Momus" brought a new concept for Rio's traditional bohemian Lapa Quarter! Awesome décor, mediterranean menu and great drinks. What else? Friendly service, cosmopolitan atmosphere and moderate prices. Sided by other famous restaurants in Lapa, as "Rio Scenarium" and "Mangue Seco", "Casa Momus" pretty much contributes to the revival of this important historical area of old downtown Rio. "Rua do Lavradio" is a pedestrian street very close to "Praça Tiradentes", so come by taxi and leave by taxi, always asking the driver to drop you as close as possible to your venue. Walking in downtown areas, principally in the evenings, at your very own risk. Just be careful, low profile and enjoy Rio's traditional Lapa Quarter. Bon Appétit!
