São Luís (Brazilian Portuguese: [sɐ̃w luˈis], Saint Louis) is the capital and largest city of the Brazilian state of Maranhão. The city is located on Ilha de São Luís (Saint Louis' Island) in the Baía de São Marcos (Saint Mark's Bay), an extension of the Atlantic Ocean which forms the estuary of Pindaré, Mearim, Itapecuru and other rivers. Its coordinates are 2.53° south, 44.30° west. The city proper has a population of some 1,082,935 people (2016 IBGE estimate). What a great experience at Nosso Canto. This bar/restaurant was recommended to us by a local and it turned out to be one of our favorite places. If you want a real experience with few tourists, this is the place for you. The food was wonderful and flavourful, the beer was ice cold and the entertainment, lively. Service was also very good. We would definitely return.

After a long work day in a hot weather, the thing that's more comparable with heaven is a cold beer sitting with the foot on the beautiful beach of Calhau - São Luis/MA.Well the panorama was almost perfect, the only thing was there is no way to get a cold beer "brazilian style", which means under 0 degree, in this place. Believe me, we have tried every thing, including bribing the waiter.So after several trials, we decided to leave the place.The only advise is GOOD LUCK.

This beach bar has absolutely lovely décor. I not only liked the look of the restaurant, I really enjoyed the food too! Itâs a beach bar, so the menu is pretty similar to what youâd find at most Brazilian beach bars. We had the crab which was perfectly seasoned. We also had the shrimp stew (ensopado), which really was not like any other Iâve eaten here in Brazilâvery, very tasty! They also make a very good caipirinha, but what I liked most was the cachaça made in Maranhão (Vale do Riachão). While in town, you are going to try the local dish: cuxá. Itâs a parsley-based âsauceâ made with dry shrimp and is very tasty. Well the cuxá here is excellent, so itâs a good place to try it if you havenât done so on your stay in this area.

Drinks and musics are good but you have to pay "couver" 7R each people so we asked for a caipi and a beer and we paid 42R it's really expensive and it not worth it !

Was in town for business for a week. Had to eat out every day. I can say that this place is by far the BEST Sao Luis has to offer. Will be coming back in a few months and will definitely be coming here at night.

I'm all in favor of restaurants with trainees, all the more if they have a piano player. However, when I went there I was told there were no vegetarian dishes available at all. So be aware that the "vegetarian friendly" label placed on Tripadvisor for this restaurant is definitely not accurate.
