It seems that hotel is run by a family and every members has it's special role. Very friendly and always smiling and trying to help. They don't speak English but we managed to understand each other. The hotel is small, only few rooms and that is actually a good thing. Unfortunately rooms do not have windows, but I suppose that is security related. The breakfast was wonderful! The lady owner prepared breakfast for each one of us separately. There is a buffet table as well but that personal touch really mattered to us. The food had a domestic touch and was really tasty. The last day the owner drove us to the airport.

The Juma Amazon Lodge is a small and comfortable hotel designed to be totally integrated to the Amazon Jungle. The construction and operation of the lodge comply with and respect the limitations of the environment, which is the very reason for the hotel to exist. Juma Amazon Lodge's goal is to offer a real and unique experience in the untouched Amazon Rainforest. All trips are organized in small groups; guests can take part on many activities around the lodge, each one is designed to help explore and learn about this unique place.
My husband and I had a great time at Juma Amazon. Everything was good, from the first day to the last. Good food and drinks, attentive staff. Good balance between tourism and Nature. No delays on the meal schedules or tours. The guide Tarzan had a great knowledge of the Forest and local culture. Great place for vacations and to experience Amazon.

I enjoyed my visit here. I came during the off season so I was the only guest but they did not cut any corners for me. I had a full range of choices and activities. I stayed with their two night package, included Piranha fishing, Cayman hunting, a visit to a village and dolphin watching. I had a. Excellent guide that was fluent in English.

We had a great trip overall, we seen a lot of wildlife including Monkeys, Sloths, Aligators, snakes, electric eel and a lot of tarantulas and different bugs. We were there for 4 nights and also swam with the dolphins. The accommodation is basic but this can be expected in the middle of the Amazon jungle and I would say the place was very clean overall. The food was good and the guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. What brought this score down was that everything felt a bit disorganised, there were confusions with what we were meant to do each day and we had to be on top of the guides to make sure our trip was maximised (which it was). I would definitely reccomend this trip but dont be afraid to tell the guides exactly what you want to do each day to make sure you get the most of your time there.

The Tariri Amazon Lodge, is an ecological hotel of unique architecture, a singular mix of typical regional buildings. The structure is composed by 8 independent huts - up to 20 people in total - with double and triple rooms, offering comfort, privacy and, above all, comfort. Our cuisine offers a varied range of diverse Amazon flavors. Our food is cultivated and grow by ourselves, like the fruits used on juices, vegetables, fish and birds, ensuring the quality and authenticity of our cuisine.Your stay will take place in family environment, where we can share, with exclusivity, the wealth of the place and the perfect knowledge of the region. We will grant your trip an international level of service, welfare and quality that is the motto of our family. The big goal and determination of our project is strongly linked to education, learning and discovery. Unique and intense experiences, considering your short stay in the Amazon rainforest.
We had a truly magical experience at Tariri Amazon Jungle Lodge. Germano ,Nixon,Fabiola and their family/team made us feel so welcome and shared their unique jungle home with us for 4 days. We did a lot of searching to find the perfect jungle lodge and feel like we made the best choice. Booking is straightforward- you complete an enquiry on their website and Mabel got back to us within 24 hours with availability and pricing (3600 BRL for 2 people for 4days/3 nights, all meals and transfers inc). Once you pick your dates you pay 50% deposit by PayPal, the rest in cash on arrival in the jungle. Transfers are tailored to your plans from manaus hotels or airport between 9.30-2pm and similar on your return journey. It takes 2.5hours to get to lodge. (2hrs in car,30 minutes by speedboat) There are ten cabanas, each can sleep a family of four(one double, two singles). They are basic but clean, separate bathroom and a lovely separate chill out room with hammocks and insect screens instead of windows all around the room so you really feel immersed in the jungle. The rooms are serviced daily. There is a lovely communal viewing deck with a couple of hammocks for enjoying the river and sunset. Food was plentiful- three meals a day with a variety of salad, rice, potatoes, soup and a meat or fish dish, finished off with a tasty dessert. There is tea and coffee and freshly squeezed juice available with all meals. There is fresh filtered water available 24/7. Beers , soft drinks and caparrhinas are available for extra costs. (10,5 and 15 BRL respectively) Activities were included in the price, were varied and changed each day. They included pirrhana fishing, visiting a local family, a jungle trek, canoeing on the river and a boat ride to enjoy the beautiful views. We were there in the wet season so most activities were in the water. There were optional extras for a small additional fee like pink dolphin encounter (I would highly recommend) and a night time motorised boat ride through the sunken forest. The only negatives we have are: information was not always forthcoming and we would have liked a bit more educational info on the birds/flora/fauna. Sometimes we felt our questions were lost in translation due to language barriers. It would have been nice if there were some current books to read with information about the birds of the Amazon. We have been to the Amazon before and paid a LOT more money for not a lot more comfort or service. This lodge may lack a few fancy cushions but it is incredibly good value for money and we would have no hesitation to come back and would recommend it to you.

Pousada Uacari is located in Mamiraua Sustainable Development Reserve, in the heart of Amazon.Mamiraua was the first sustainable development reserve in Brazil and is a world Natural Heritage site. The reserve is one the most important protected tropical forest blocks in the world and harbors a rich ecosystem home to endemic species, such as the exotic bald uacari monkey and the black-headed squirrel monkey. The lodge floats peacefully above water and consists of 05 comfortable bungalows with an exceptional location from where you set off on tours to see fauna, interact with residents from local communities and meet researchers who work on the reserve.Pousada Uacari is an initiative of the community-based tourism program of Mamiraua Institute. It is administrated through shared management between the Institute and the communities of the reserve. The objective of Pousada Uacari is to generate income for local residents and promote the conservation of natural resources.
Nice lodge, although getting a bit old in the tooth.Still the location is phenomenal. The food is excellent. The caipirinhas delicious. However, the "excursions" were not as wonderful as hoped because none of the guides spoke English, which meant that when they spotted criters, they stopped and pointed, and sometimes handed a picture book back so you knew what you were looking for, but that's not what we expected. There was no way to ask questions, etc. There was ONE woman (marketing) back at the lodge that explained to us what was on the buffet, what time to meet for excursions, etc. Otherwise we were on our own. There were 7 other lodge guests and they all spoke English, so that was comforting and helpful. A couple of them spoke Portuguese, so they could translate somewhat IF they were on the same excursion. Good thing we had been to the Amazon before (in Peru several years ago) or we would have missed so much. Glad that this place is run and staffed by "locals," but they need to either tell people they must speak Portuguese or they need to have someone available to translate. Glad we went, but also glad we only spent 3 nights.

Who lives in the Great Amazon Plain feel the absence of local highlands to observe the vastness of the forest and its large rivers. The Mirante do Gaviao Amazon Lodge offers in their leisure areas swimming pool, pier, lounge and restaurant, and some lookouts on the property where you can relax and enjoy the various types of visual: Rio Negro, Anavilhanas archipelago, our Birds or even the friendly sloths and iguanas of our little forest.
As previous posts suggest, this is located on the edge of Novo Ario settlement, but you wouldn’t know it from inside the lodge. Amazing design of the lodge buildings, fantastic quality food using local ingredients not seen elsewhere in Brazil at the river front restaurant. Staff are extremely amenable. Although the price is high for Brazil, all tours (excellent and English speaking guide Nigel), transfers and food are included, leaving just extra drinks to pay for. Would recommend a longer stay as the transfer from Manaus is 3 hours and some time to enjoy the lodge as they pack the itinerary!
