Gourmet stop in a lovely country setting in the heart of eastern townships, fresh organic products, fully licensed.
Had high expectations, based on some reviews; a French owner; and our desire (perhaps hope) for a wonderful meal. The restaurant has its' charm; the owner is erudite; yet the food was quite disappointing. While the owner is from Bretagne, and one would expect an exceptional crepe, it was more like a flat, lightly filled pancake, quite short on filling, and entirely unremarkable. Street food crepes in France are consistently much better. The couscous, which was the evening's "special," was a bit of a joke. .. a VERY SMALL portion, and (believe it or not) short on the least expensive portion and mainstay of the dish, the "couscous" (the semolina filler). That said, the "mergues" sausage, while not bountiful, was at least (gratefully) authentic. (We came for the "couscous," a special dish to our family, and considering both entrees, we left hungry.) Prices were on the high side. Service was excellent. Lastly, Stanstead is a place with very limited dining alternatives. The deficits of this restaurant dramatically limits options, and begs for the necessity of making a significantly longer drive for an acceptable dinner. (I am embarrassed for the owner of the inn that recommended the restaurant, given the discrepancy between the quality of the inn and the quality of the restaurant.) Stanstead itself is charming; the inns have quality; the town bakery is one of our favorites; and people staying in the town deserve more if they wish to go out for dinner. (Hoping that the owner, who appears wise enough, can "get it," and can take the criticism as it is intended, in order to up her game, which I sense she can, if she truly wishes to.)

If you like bit of Paris right next to the USA, come on by! you will love the coffee and the company! Nestled in the little sector the locals call the Bee Be plains, the countryside is rolling hills and Mountains, you are very near the honey place and the lavender farm. Afterward, come visit the amazing Stanstead Stone Circle! You will be pleased that you did, a very unique place!

Not many words are needed to highlight this delicious bakery/pastry shop. Located in a simple, little building on main street Stanstead, it is easily accessible from the main and smaller border. It is well worth your while for lunch/snack,...Pure French bread heaven. The sandwiches are perfection.

A charming, authentic Dominican experience in Stanstead. I ordered the Dominican flag (chicken, rice, beans and salad). The presentation was wonderful. The chicken was tender and flavorful and blended so well with the rice and beans. I thought I was going to order another plate, but I realized that I was full. The portions were more than sufficient. The chef also prepared delicious pineapple with coconut for dessert. Five stars!

Chez Bridg is a very good inexpensive little restaurant located right by the bike path in the Beebe sector of Stanstead. It is open seven days a week and the food is always great with daily specials running Monday through Friday. The specials are like that of a fine home cooked meal. They also serve breakfast and dinner too. The menu consists of Quebec pizza, Canadian club sandwiches, cheese burgers, fries, smoked meat, soups and homemade Deserts. They even deliver in the summer months.
You can also eat on the deck and the service is good. It seems to cater to a lot of locals and seasonal residents too.

We have been eating at this restaurant for quite some time. Their specialty is the pizza and they make a very good one. The dough is to die for and it tends more to be towards a bread base than a pizza dough base. Their toppings are plentiful and of good quality. I do not think that they own a can opener. This family ran restaurant's setting is quite modest, but the highlight is their granite tables. We eat there at every opportunity we have when we visit the area. Prices are very affordable. Their pizza is better eaten at the restaurant than as a take-out.

Most restaurants in that area are closed on Sunday and Monday, the two nights were were in there. On the recommendation of our B&B hosts, we visited Rendez Vous restaurant while on a recent trip. They've been open a couple of months. Although they're open all day and into the evening, the dinner offerings are slim. The menu was more like a diner menu. It was not our style of restaurant. My dinner partner and I selected sandwiches. My Reuben was huge (I couldn't eat it all) but the meat in it was rather thick and tough. The fries that accompanied both of our sandwiches were on the greasy side. The cole slaw side was minuscule. They are still awaiting an alcohol license. This is a restaurant still in the early stages. Hopefully they will improve.
