This really isn't a restaurant per se. This is part of the excursion we booked through The Placencia Resort. The meal consisted of grilled chicken, red beans and rice and fried plantain. The meal is included in price of the excursion. The cash bar serves all types of drinks including beer, mixed drinks, cokes, juices and frozen drinks. The bartender, Wilfreddie, is outstanding!

Mr Young sets up and serves his wonderful bbq, just off the Placencia sidewalk on Saturdays. All the locals, and lucky visitors in the know line up at 12noon for delicious bbq and a family experience. Friendly and entertaining Mr Young, his wife and family are all serving from 5 or six huge bbq's. The food is sizzling as you wait. He serves until the food is gone. There is a choice of ribs, pulled pork, chicken, sausage and a couple of other items. All fresh off the grill with his amazing bbq sauce. And large portions. The smells are incredible. All served with beans, (amazing creole style) and cole slaw, and a roll or tortilla. All fresh, all delicious and swoon worthy. There are desserts for purchase, homemade. (2$) Also incredibly delicious. Average 10$ Belize$ for the meal. There are some tables and chairs setup, we walked to the beach (just a few steps away) and ate there as did many others. The locals say that this is the best bbq on the coast. All four of us would agree. You must experience this

Lovely couple running a great restaurant! We had bbq chicken and home made baked beans and went 2 days in a row! The prices are so reasonable and the food is great! It is like dining at a friends house, very comfortable. They make and awesome rum punch and the fried cookie dough dessert is amazing!

Traditional Belizean fare served with love. Jerk chicken wings were spot on,Tamales were very good though not as hot (temp) as they should be. Brenda is a window into the past of Placencia with many stories to tell well worth a listen. Just tell Brenda straight up when you sit down what you want and what you are willing to pay per person max , because otherwise the food and drinks will just keep coming. Please keep in mind that dishes like Lobster gumbo are not something she keeps on hand, Things in Belize are very much made to order, so if you have a special request, the fishermans coop is right across the street with time and prior notice Brenda will take care of you.

My wife and I each got a burrito for lunch, she got the shrimp one and I got the fish one. Shrimp one had much more flavor. Neat place right on the beach front!
