large hotel lots of rooms but no car park I arrived late Sunday evening 10pm and it was pouring down found what i thought was the Premier Inn car park but it was full fyi next morning i counted circa 50 spots The hotel is very central so yellow lines are everywhere but i was forced to risk a ticket and entered the hotel to check in while my priority was to get my car slotted away for the night - and get my head down The one and only person i could determine was present was a young Indian lady assisting someone in the cafe area when she came to the desk she asked me what company name i was booked under so i must assume that this hotel gets a fair amount of business business. I advised her ı was booked under my name but the car park out back was full so where might i park my car she replied the car park did not belong to the hotel. When ı pressed the point she simply replied she didn't normally work at this location so ultimately she was unable to answer my question If i hadn't already prepaid i would have cut my losses and left the place there and then I walked outside and pulled up three youngsters walking by and asked for their help and they very politely advised me of a car park just around the corner which is where i parked up for the night Next morning down to breakfast and i asked a young Indian lady at the lectern how many rooms did the hotel have she replied she was new here The coffee machine in the cafe was out of order There was what appeared to be fresh puke stain on my carpet just where one would step into bed I was aware car parking at this hotel was first come first served but given the number of rooms in the hotel you are quite likely to have park off premise and ultimately i really do believe the staff should have a better understanding of where they work I asked myself would Sir Lenny really stay here and the answer came back NO he wouldn't

A 16th Century hotel in Staines, The Swan sits serenely on the Thames, serving up blissful river views, fine food, delicious drinks and stylish accommodation. Recently refurbished to supreme standards, it’s a place where old and new come together to stunning effect.
This is a peaceful hotel with Thames location. The cosy rooms (ours was Thames view) had everything you need for a nice stay. On-site restaurant was also very nice for both breakfast and dinner. The outside pub area was excellent to watch the world go by on the Thames Very good value for money

We stayed here last week following a work conference and I have NEVER stayed in such a awful quality hotel in the U.K. it was dirty and dangerous in certain areas. A work colleague actually refused their room and couldn’t be offered alternative- so opted for an 80 mile round trip for conference, rather than spend a night there. The hallway carpets and ranched up and baggy, so it’s was difficult to pull a trolley suitcase along them. Corridors had the worse pungent smell of sweat and body odour I have ever smelt, carpets are threadbare in some doorway - causing trip hazards. My curtains were stuck together with a dried out fluid, so crunched when you attempted to open them. Chair was thread bare with foam coming out. Against UK fire regulations. Stains all over the carpets. 3 of us requested alternative rooms, but hotel was full. I found it slightly intimidating when another resident asked me and another female work colleague for our room number, as we walked along the corridors, but felt a bit better with the number of security guards on site, they patrol the corridors and are at the entrance hall. When this was mentioned to the receptionist was told, there are security guards patrolling the corridors, to “ensure some of the guest behave” The only plus from stay, was staff friendly, bed was clean and breakfast was good. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

Absolute Con! I have booked to stay here in July to take my sister to Thorpe park, little did I know that she and her partner would have to be 25 or over to occupy the room. The premises asked identification of all guest which wasn’t very clear though Booking.com. I wasn’t aware that the accommodation was a shared bathroom with other residents. I most certainly wouldn’t have booked knowing this alone as I like my own space regarding this department. There was no option to book with a free cancellation. So I feel this is a good money maker for both RC rooms and Booking.com. I have contacted both RC rooms and Booking.com less than 24 hours after making the booking to cancel as I did not agree with their stringent terms and conditions and did not trust they would try and swindle me for deposit money. I wasn’t able to provide ID for everyone in my party, leaving me stuck moving forward. The woman from RC rooms was very rude when contacting her by phone and hung up the call. It seemed at the time that she had done this before, but looking at the reviews on trip advisor I was not wrong. Reading other reviews I can now see this property has more issues with it and I do not trust both RC rooms and booking.com to assure a smooth stay and therefore will not be staying here and sadly have lost my money to RC rooms and trust to booking.com I cannot stress enough to AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Turned up late and the couple were very accommodating and gave me a free drink. Room was decent size, bed was clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again if I was in the area. Close to the M25 and Heathrow. Free parking so overall no complaints. The couple running it have not long taken it over so if they keep smiling they should do well

Wrote to the Manger with our experience and as yet received no reply. Receptionist was not welcoming. Room we were allocated far to small for a six day stay. Majority of staff were very helpful. Felt rushed on our last day . Our cooked breakfast arrived before we had finished our cereal.
