The Lodge's name "Ingwenya" derives from the Zulu word for crocodile. It was quite logical to choose a name for our lodge indigenous to Zululand, in this first world heritage site of South Africa. Ingwenya Lodge is situated on the "outskirts" of the residential area of St Lucia, nestled in the heart of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. The property borders the nature reserve with a view of both the sea and the estuary, a very unique privilege in St Lucia.
The Ingwenya lodge is well located at the end of a street, it's a quite place, with a view over a forest to the see. The rooms a clean and you have all you need. The car you can park directly in front of the house. The owner is helpfull an lives in the same house. St.Lucia has many restaurants and stores, where you can buy food. The beach is very clean and controlled. The sea is warm.

A little piece of paradise. A warm and friendly welcome, clean and luxurious rooms, delicious breakfast and walking distance from the small center. It is too bad that we chose this place as a stay-over while in transit, I would have loved to stay a few days more!

This guesthouse was beautifully redone and we had a superb stay. Donovan and Melissa went above and beyond in helping us determine what to visit and when and they provided everything we could think of. We will definitely be visiting again and thank you for making our stay so amazing!
