A wonderful mix of remnants from its Roman and medieval pasts, Spoleto’s history actually goes back further to Bronze Age Umbria. Today, it’s best known for its annual summer Festival dei Due Mondi (Festival of Two Worlds or Spoleto Festival), honoring music, opera, theater and dance. Among the city’s many excellent historic sights are its first-century Roman amphitheatre, the 12th-century Duomo, 13th-century Ponte delle Torri aqueduct and the 14th-century hilltop fortress, Rocca Albornoziana.

Country resort near Spoleto settled on the hill of Poreta facing the valley. Part of the medieval hamlet Le Terre di Poreta, we have rooms and apartments to rent daily and weekly, breakfast room, swimming pool, gym and sauna. Organic farming production of olive oil, truffle and legumes.
When we arrived in the afternoon and asked for a dinner table reservation in the evening the reception lady just said that there was a party, no availability. She didn't offer assistance for alternative. The welcome was more like in an cheap airport hotel. The staff in general is not very welcoming. The only exception being the lady that serves breakfast. The bathroom furniture and fixtures is 1990ies and is very tired outdated. (See photos) The showerhead sprays everywhere but on your head. The location, the building and facilities. The rooms are authentically furnished. The building is a beautifully renovated farm. The food in the restaurant was splendid. There is no wine list and only house wine is available. No one explained to us that there is a set price for dinner including wine. We ordered a junior suite and got a two bedroom suite of circa 60m2.

We take dinner during the week time . The waiters and staff are not the best since they don’t have enough experience to advise you about the topical dish and wine . The second dish wasn’t great and on the end when we are asking for liquors also there the waiters don’t give a complete list . The location is great with a beautiful view!

The restaurant is in the main building where is located the swimming pool but not the bedrooms. The bedrooms or apartment are located at 500m, on a steep street: very uncomfortable go up and down for breakfast. The apartments are pretty old and need deep maintenance; we also found towels from previous customers. The restroom had some mold on the walls since there is no window or any fan to clean the air. We where not able to use the pool because a) too far b) used for a private party. A waste of money.

I made reservation in this place because my husband is an architect and we wanted to stay at this ancient monastery with 30 rooms. We made a reservation 2 months in advance and had reservation confirmation from M.Stefano. We arrived in the morning not to check in but to leave our suitcases. Doors were locked. We waited for a while until a nun came and called for the staff. A very indifferent lady came and not welcoming us mentioned that check in time was 14:00. We asked if we could leave our bagages in the loby and come back. She continously mentioned that they were full the next day and she was getting ready for them. She gave us the keys to the room at the side building with very steep steps. We did not understand anything. All the times the doors to the main entrance was locked. We did not have any chance to sit in the lobby. The two women, only staff we saw, were very unfriendly and whatever we demanded the answer was"we're preparing for our guests tomorrow". So they did not give us a room at the main building because we were the only guests and they did not want to bother with lobby, reception etc.and closed the doors. Thank God they opened the door for breakfast. Be careful when you reserve. The only positive thing is the San Ponziano church nearby which is amazing, one of the most interesting places we saw in Umbria.

If your exploring Umbria around the Spoleto/ Perugia area, this superbly run AgrotourismmHotel restaurant is a wonderful home plate to operate from. The hotel,is part of a large operating farm so much of the produce, dairy and meat is home sourced. The buildings and surrounding gardens are modern and very attractively laid out. For the Summer visitor there is a large modern pool complex. The business is family operated and run with efficiency and a nice gentle homeliness. The rooms are very comfortable and the restaurant is excellent. The pricing makes this place a great experience.

Amazing place, rooms were modern and clean. AC in the room was just what we needed. We tried their restaurant and their food was delicious, I don't know the name of the young waiter but I would like to thank him for his amazing service. Breakfast was not the best but we enjoyed the homemade crostata.
