Reviews on Contemporary food in La Guancha, Spain including Mirador San Pedro, El Taller Seve Diaz, Tasca Ihuey, Restaurante Las Chozas, Mirador de Garachico

Located in a unique place, In the restaurant Mirador de San Pedro you can enjoy one of the best views of the north coast of Tenerife enjoying the best cuisine.
Dramatic seaside location on clifftop with views on crashing waves. Food was very average - hard tomatoes, rather greasy fish but overall a pleasant experience. Decent service but as with many Tenerife restaurants they insist on lighting with harsh, bright white lights that kill the atmosphere. Worth it for location in an area of the island with very few decent restaurants. Thanks for your feedback. We take note of your comments to continue with our improvement process.Best regards

Another imaginative and well balanced Tasting Menu...6 mini courses and great value at â¬40 per head.Highlights included cold gazpacho with garlic and olive oil, salmon with sweet potato purée , pressed veal slow cooked with a reduction of the meat juices and your choice of two desserts including a delectable coconut bounty served three ways.Chef Seve Diaz and his sister Lily are totally unflappable and the open kitchen is a place of peace and culinary creativity which justifiably makes it number ONE in Puerto de la Cruz.Closed now for most of September so that the excellent chef and staff can go on holiday to recharge their batteries.

Mediterranean tapas with local and fresh products
Yet another faultless dinner at this very well run restaurant.A new complimentary appetiser of cherne & beetroot created by Chef Claudioâs mother was a perfect start to our meal.Fillet of pompano with a light lemon grass sauce was perfectly cooked and served with purée of sweet potato ... Claudio & Melissa are experts in timing of all fish dishes.Duck magret sauced with spicy orange and served with purée of carrots was perfectly pink and totally delicious.Long time waitress Jacqueline has gone to Holland for family reasons but her replacement Dominique , a tall and amiable Frenchman , has stepped into her shoes admirably.Tasca Ihuey is one of our two favourite restaurants in Puerto and it is best to book in advance.Very highly recommended.

I visited this restaurant for the first time after receiving recommendations from friends. I wasn't disappointed! It had a friendly ambiance as soon as we walked in and the staff were very welcoming and efficient. My friend and I shared the best chateaubriand I have ever eaten, which you cooked yourself on a hot stone, accompanied by a tasty assortment of chips, fried onions, green peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes and a pot of bearnaise sauce. We even managed a dessert. I will definitely be returning. Wow!Thanks for your visit and the appraisal.
