Restaurants in Fasnia
After visiting the Thor Heyerdahl pyramid site, we wanted some food and this cafeteria is only about 75 metres away. It was very welcoming and the very friendly staff tolerated our unplanned abuse of their language, as we cannot speak much Spanish! The food is done on a daily basis, so the extensive menu (available in numerous languages, including English) may not always be available. We made our choices, which were available and the portion sizes were very satisfactory, so much so, that it is easy to overeat here! The menu has a wide selection of dishes, including starters, main courses and desserts; the starters can also be converted Into tapas if requested.Overall, a very friendly place, with a good range of reasonably priced food that will meet most diets or requests. Well worth visiting!

I had wanted to come here for a while because of the good reviews on the lunches and cakes. Plus I wanted to offer my wife ( a vegetarian) lots of options for food. We started with a quiche (wife), a vegetable wrap ( daughter), cheese and tomato baguette (son) and I had the vegetarian burger. These were all really good. The cakes were delicious and the coffee was amazing, we tried the barraquito and these were so good we ordered another each. I would thoroughly recommend this cafe

Paseo del Teide was a great little restaurant we stumbled upon after doing a hike around La Caldera. As it was a sunny day we sat out in the very charming little garden and were attended by really nice staff. The food is very reasonably priced and there is a great selection. The first time we had a wonderful gazpacho (very nice with a little plate of tomatoes, cucumber, crutons and apple pieces to sprinkle over it) bread and the local respectability gofio (served with the bread) to start with. Gofio is a bit of an acquired taste- a kind of nutty tasting lump- I think to be used as bread, interesting but it probably won't turn in to a favourite. We then had a steak and grilled chicken, both very yummy. Make sure you don't miss the white wine "afrutado"- very fruity and particular to Tenerife. The restaurant was actually so good we went back a couple of days later when we did another hike- the soup of the day and half a grilled chicken marinated with a wonderful tasty smoke were new favourites that day. Only drawback was the desserts- a bit too sweet for my liking. But otherwise fantastic food and really friendly and fast staff.
