This place was recommended by a local as being the best place to get one of Menorca's signature dishes - caldereta. But as I am severely allergic to fish and seafood we went two days before to ask if they could do it for one (usually it is minimum two people) and if they could cater for my fish allergy and ensure no cross contamination in the kitchen if I ordered meat. They agreed to do the caldereta for one if we returned another day so it could be prepared but said they couldn't guarantee no cross contamination for me. So my husband dined alone. He said it was very good but at the price they charged it was not special enough to repeat. We are avid foodies. We love our food and wine. But this place, instead of charging for one person for the caldereta, ordered two days in advance, charged the usual price for two!!! The bill came to 93 euros for one person - the caldereta being 69 euros, with a dessert and two glasses of wine on top. There are better dishes and better places for foodies in Minorca. We won't be back.

Spanish mediterranean restaurant, fish, lobster, crab... Best food!! Menorca is a beautifull island. Fornells is a nice village.
Booked ahead for a family night out. Menu looked good but expensive so we expected something special. Waiters were friendly but not particularly chatty or informative. Restaurant is light and welcoming, although the lighting is quite stark. First course I had was melon port-wine. This was a half honeydew melon hollowed out, the melon cut into pieces and put back and filled with port. After a few spoonfuls it was boring. Others had fish soup which was nice and salad which was nothing special. The mains ranged in price from â¬19-â¬70 euros so we though the food would be fantastic! There was nothing on the menu to say what accompanied the mains and the waiter did not offer the information. Turned out to be chips and an overdone bit of tomato. We all had a different choice of main. The food was well cooked but there was no offer of sauces. Bland and boring. I had grilled hake which was just 3 pieces of fish with chips. Not what I expected. One had sole and had to ask the waiter for a fish knife!!!! Sweets were on the menu but not in English and the waiter offered no translation so two of us didnât order. The others made an educated guess and ordered. One of the sweets was so cold they couldnât get a spoon in it at first! After the sweets the waiter did not offer extra drinks or coffee so we paid and left. The waiters need to make more effort and the food needs to be more exciting to justify the prices. We left disappointed.

Lunch on holiday in Fornells. Quaint sea facing restaurant with a good menu choice. Very attentive team who spoke good English and gave advice whilst we ordered. Sea Bass the special was delicious served with fresh veg, not a chip in sight. They offered to fillet it. Great relaxed atmosphere, loved it! There are a few restaurants here to chose, this is definitely one of the best ones.

A lovely up-market restaurant in the hills of Fornells. Authentic seafood cooked to perfection, an elaborate wine list and welcoming staff. The owner made us feel very welcome and did not rush us at all when we asked to sit and wait before our meals. Even made us cocktails that were not on the menu. Beautiful views and clean bathrooms and large seating area. Very pleased with our visit. Thank you and looking forward to seeing you again.

This a rather smaller restaurant along the harbour in Fornells and all the better for that - more intimate. We ate here several times in the first two weeks of September. The food was excellent and well presented. The service was also excellent - very friendly. Prices are about average. We tried one or two of the larger restaurants but we kept coming back to Sa Proa. The menu is quite large and varied. Everything we had was very good. Their goats cheese salad was great and one between the two of us made an excellent starter. We would have no hesitation in recommending Sa Proa.

This harbour side venue served the most amazing lunchWe shared a series of salads- the aroma and flavour of the baby aubergines were some of the best we have had the good fortune to savour anywhere, the tuna and tomato salad and other dishes were equally delicious.Always trust staff wearing clean, smart aprons!!Well worth seeking out

Can Tanu is a small restaurant created with passion and love of the sea. Can Tanu comes from a family of fishermen. Sebastian Garriga is already the third generation of the family that every day leaves at dawn to fish the desired lobster of Fornells. Pila
After being recommended to try the lobster soup here -we hired a car from Port Mahon and drove to Fornells, It was so disappointing it was unbelievable.I was charged 65 Euros for a bowl of watery tasteless liquid with a few lobster shells which was meant to be a stew! The lobster I did have was tough and there was so little of it I actually left hungry. My partner's meal was not any better having the local soup and fish platter again left much to be desired. We paid in total about 100 Euros for the worst experience of our holiday.Sentimos mucho su experiencia. No entendemos su criterio para estos comentarios. La verdad es que estamos contentos y orgullosos de nuestro trabajo y por suerte el trip advisor lo demuestra.Esperemos que tenga mejores experiencias.

Excellent service and food with an interesting menu and a good value set menu. In season book to avoid disappointment. No Seaview but in a pretty pedestrian street. Much favoured by local people too. Lunch here is a great way to spend a sunny afternoon.

Busy bar and restaurant, located right on the beach, friendly staff, but busy so expect a wait for your food if you didnât order off the daily specials or a paella. However, who cares, Iâm on my holidays and donât have anywhere else to be! Beer is cold, food is good (as ever with these places try to eat the ârealâ food and not the mass produced tourist pap). Would advise to book a table when you first get down to the beach and then just enjoy a lazy afternoon before going back in the sea to cool off.
