Reviews on Mediterranean food in Melilla, Spain. Melilla (/məˈliːjə/ mə-LEE-yə; Spanish: [meˈliʎa], locally [meˈliʝa]; Arabic: مليلية, Maliliyyah; Berber languages: ⵎⵔⵉⵜⵙ, Mřič) is a Spanish autonomous city located on the north coast of Africa, sharing a border with Morocco, with an area of 12.3 km (4.7 sq mi). Melilla, along with Ceuta, is one of two permanently inhabited Spanish cities in mainland Africa. It was part of the Province of Málaga until 14 March 1995, when the city's Statute of Autonomy was passed.

This place looks average at best but it gets great reviews -deservedly- Fish and seafood tapas are very fresh and are delicious. Gambas and cigalas. Almejas too ! It is very old fashioned but serves brilliant tapas.

Traditional Spanish bar. Excellent fish and seafood. The pulpa was wonderful. Efficient and friendly service.

This turned out to be a set of well set out restaurant tables in a somewhat insubstantial windy plastic awning with sides adjoining the kitchen, but nevertheless offering high quality seafood and evidently well-patronised by local clients. Good service and very well prepared fresh seafood for our choices of boquerones and rape a la plancha. Adequate house wine at a perhaps somewhat expensive 15 Euros. Our visit was however somewhat marred by confusion over paying the bill by credit card - if you are paying with a UK credit card in Spanish restaurants and want to pay in Euros and not pounds be sure to tell the waiter that - otherwise as happened in our case we ended up paying four or five pounds extra for a poor exchange rate and a 4.75% mark-up on the sale! In hindsight a good opportunity to practice my skills in arguing in Spanish, so no complaints really...

Located on the main beach road and facing the beach and sea- this restaurant was very popular at this lunch time sitting. Traditional spa ish me i - grulled mests and fish. Fish and seafood offering was very good. All tables outside were occupied and they even extend the front terrace to put tables in front of the bank next door !

Especialidad en carnes, pescados. Mas de 20 tipos de carnes. Salón para actos y eventos. Bodega especializada y climatizada
Visited for diner following a recommendation. The restaurant was very quiet so felt a little odd and football was being shown but regardless, very eclectic surroundings with real authenticity paying homage to Melilla's diverse history. The waiter was friendly and service throughout very attentive. We started with black pudding and stuffed peppers ... All I can say is that even sharing, both were huge portions...but delicious. We both had different monkfish mains which were lovely but in honesty, overindulgence with the starters took the edge off. The waiter recommended a wonderful Spanish white wine which was not on the menu and was a great choice. Made even better at the price tag of only 12 euros..wow. Overall a lovely meal and would highly recommend if visiting.

New place at the marina of Melilla. Food here is something different from what you can find in Melilla. Imaginative and tasty dishes and desserts that you can enjoy with a glass of wine of your choice(you dont have to buy the whole bottle). Tapas are spectacular there

My favourite restaurant in Melilla. Very classy. Very elegant. Very yesteryear. It combines quality tapas at bar with excellent main courses for a full dining experience. Wonderful staff. Premises look nothing special from outside but venture inside and it is FAB! The old style French music playing - jazz style- set the scene and the mood. I could have spotted Edith Piaf in the corner ? Maybe ?! Menu is very safe and traditional but it is all done extremely well. Staff are engaging which is great. - happy to show you dishes going to other tables. Happy ro make recommendations. The fish / seafood cooler was a little disappointing this trip as not the level of choice I have seen before - but part of that huge rape was turned into a small wonderful dish. The marinated pulpo was the best I have ever had.

Not the best of locations and quite a walknfrom central town, but this restaurant is FAB! Doesnt look much from the outside but has a rather dramatic Moroccan interior and the food is wonderful. Tagines cooked to perfection perfection- very aromatic and lovely flavours coming through. Great service levels too. A lovely restaurant and dining experience.
