Four of us called in here for a welcome drink after the walk down the Benchijigua Valley - excellent spot, super-welcoming host & excellent ambient music playing quietly in the background. We didnât eat (weâd had our sandwiches already) but weâre still served some delicious potato and chorizo tapas for free - a great touch. A couple of other walkers there said the homemade soup (almost a stew) was delicious too. A little gem of a place, and great to see how popular it was - it deserves it.

My wife and I both ordered veal which tuned out to be very tough. Our complaint was met with sullen silence. La Gomera has developed into an island with some excellent restaurants - but this is not one of them

Creative Spanish cuisine.
We visited this restaurant whilst staying at the Jardin Tecina (see separate report). The restaurant is well appointed with an inside and outside space. The waiter staff was very good on the evening. The meal we chose was the taster menu which was discounted as we were half board at the hotel to 9.90⬠each.We received an initial taster of a layer of roasted courgette with cheese and a cherry tomato which was a little weird as the it was stone cold? The cod with boiled potatoes were horrible as the cod tasted out of date and the potatoes were so dry that even adding butter didn't help! The worst thing on the menu was the creme caramel. Expecting a wobbly jelly like custard with caramel sauce it in fact came like a burnt piece of lard and tasted no better. What made the evening worse was the waiters were falling over themselves with a lady and her children or grand children no doubt connected to the owners and then allowed her to smoke. I acknowledge we were in the outside space at least 50% had the screens down and especially in the corner where she sat and thus smoke allowed to spoil other people's environments. As a result of this I complained to reception about the standard of the food and the fact this person was allowed to smoke in what had become an enclosed space - what I got back was a faceless letter back apologising for the quality of the food and smoking issue from Raquel Garcia. I quote from the letter "We know that you were disappointed because other customers smoked on the restaurant terrace, but we cannot totally ban smoking outdoors." Well Raquel I agree you cannot stop people smoking outdoors but you can control what happens in your restaurants affecting other people's enjoyment by not giving people ashtrays and encouraging them to smoke in the space! As to the recipe Raquel if only the dessert looked like the image shown rather than a burnt rectangular block of lard - I suggest you give the recipe to the person who made this tripe ask them to start making it like this and only then can you start waxing lyrical about "Heavens little pigs".Did I try any other a la carte restaurant at this hotel after this did I hell as like! I stuck to the main restaurant which had better quality food, smoke free environment and better service oh yes it was self service

Having lunch or dinner at Club Laurel Restaurant is more than just tasting luxurious and delicious dishes. Located at Club Laurel beach, the restaurant is a space that melts into the environment making it ideal, an oasis beside the beach where you can enj
Club Laurel has a great setting and a good ambiance, although too much of the seating is outdoors for January evenings. The service is pretty good, but the food isnât up to other restaurants in Playa Santiago, for quality or quantity, and you pay more.Dear customer, Thank you for your comments regarding your experience in our Club Laurel Restaurants. It is regrettable that the meals did not meet your expectations. The food in our Club Laurel is 100% natural and offers a very healthy culinary option. However, it also good that there is some variation in the village of Santiago and that you could take advantage of the variety on offer.Best regards,

Amazing food that changes daily. The staff are very helpful and really friendly. Although it's Tapas the portions are large. We picked four plates and ordered another later on for four of us. The battered squid and potato salad was exceptionally good, the eggs and sausage even better. Great food at a sensible price. Probably the best restaurant in the village and not to be missed.

La Gomera has some very good restaurants but with the exception of the Orone they all only offer Canarian potatoes or salad to accompany the chose main course. The Swiss chef at this establishment, provides delicious and innovative vegetables. The monkfish and prawns on a skewer with orange sauce, the Iberian pork with berry sauce and the correctly cooked tuna are highly recommended.Exceptional - well done

On a recent holiday in Playa de Santiago we went to this restaurant a couple of times and were not disappointed on either occasion. The food is well done, the service is good, the vale for money is excellent and the atmosphere nice. The highlight for me was the John Dory which my wife and I shared on our first visit... Excellent!

Trademark setting in a cave near the port. We sat outside as the temperature was perfect. Service was good, with some lapses. The seafood was varied with some dishes outstanding (pulpo vinaigrette, king mackerel) and some of the fish was so so, lots of bones and dry. Expensive by local standards but probably worth it

Small place located right on the coast, with a nice atmosphere. We regret to communicate that we do not work with reservations.
We go here several times for lunch each time we visit La Gomera. Fish is always delicious. Right in the seafront. Staff are very friendly. Cheap. Whatâs not to like. Weâll be back!

Have eaten here many times and feel so sorry for them that the seafront construction is so far behind schedule and still causing them problems (they currently donât open at lunchtime due to the noise and dust). The wonderful view of the harbour is temporarily obscured by a high fence around the building works. Please DONT LET THIS PUT YOU OFF going in the evening as the food is still excellent- especially the fish. Good wine served too. The head waitress can be a little severe but soon warms if you smile nicely! So concentrate on the food and wine and youâll have a lovely time. Especially good starter is Clams in white wine, then go for whatever catch of the day is. It will be beautifully cooked and very tasty.
