Service was crisp, food- could not find ANY fault- divine.Price was ridicously cheap. I shall give my potential local customer a special deal to make sure I have to come to Salo every two weeks!

We had a wonderful lunch of trout, asparagus, potatoes and a strawberry cream cake. Dining room was filled with old paintings of nobility that owned the castle in the past. They have their own vineyards and part of the land is used by the University of Helsinki for research on roses.

This place is known in Finland because it was part of reality TV show, where they try to upgrade these "blast from the past" restaurants to 2010's. Short drive away from Turku-Helsinki motorway and there is this place next to little lake. First feeling was nice, because they have nice beach and little Water Park for kids. When you get inside, it gets little confusing. They have arcade hall, billiard room, bar serving alcohol, souvenir shop, barber/hair dresser(!) and then restaurant with terrace. So kind of everything for everybody. Male waiter(manager?) was friendly, but otherwise with the food it was downfall from start. Female waitress took us to someone else's Schintzel that we tasted, then she noticed that it should have gone to another table and what did she do....she took that to another customer, despite we had tasted it! When our food came, it was eatable, but nothing special and it was really overpriced. My Schnitzel was 18€, so "real restaurant" price for below average small portion. One thing that confused me about their menu, was that they are trying to be a fancy restaurant and fast food place same time. On same menu they have for example French Fries with Sausages and then Pike Perch á la Mannerheim, which you can usually have in upscale restaurants.
