Our friends live about 25km from Siklos and The Station Hotel (Vasuti Vedego) is one of our favourite places. We visit Hungary regularly and ver fail . I ticked "cheap Eats" in the price category as you can get the two course lunch for 900Ft (less than £3) and we often have this, Great portions and the schnitzel with cheesy mash and cabbage one of my favourites. If you go for the A La Carte menu expect about £12 each with drinks for three courses. If we can we sit outside but also interesting inside and a plus that they employ Roma people too. Portions are huge (see picture) Not sure why we didn't give it five but probably lost just a little on food quality compared to our best experiences in Hungary but having said that great value, excellent staff and ambience and still one of our favourites.

Ehetünk kiváló menüt, és pizzát is ebben az étteremben. A berendezés hangulatos, megközelÃthetÅsége kiváló, hisz a fÅutcán van.A környék legfinomabb pizzáját itt ehetjük.

Suggested vintage stlye place near Siklos region, where you can drink super coffie, home made lemonade, and the regions well known wines. They also offer home made cookies, special chocolates, macaron etc.Thank you very much!Köszönjük értékelését!
So we tried but this is not that you like to try. However the place is nice, but there is a lot of bags, as we sit next to the water. The waiters really old style and slow and sometimes they know the Frank... not a client orientated.Get to the food:It was also an old style the dishes was not really expected one. The fish was fat, the local (Croatian) was small portion and not that delicious. We can say that the prices are high compare to the quality and quantity.
Don't come here if you want something special or real Hungarian. It is tourist place where you can eat cheap food of average quality. Also lightning on a terrace is awful, green tone of light gives lunatic atmosphere.

I was here 2 years ago and had wonderful time&meal, so that I've decided to visit this place once again with a friend of mine. not only once, but 2 days in a row we've been eating, walking around the farm and enjoying the best Hungary has to offer. as a restaurant owner myself, and a very picky eater, I do highly recommend "Tenkes" food, especially anything with goose liver, and do not forget to try their sweet dumplings with cheese (they are really heaven on earth). to all those complaining about prices... good food costs. to those who are not delighted by the quality at "Tenkes"... something is wrong with your taste buds :D and when you're trevelling abroad don't expect the waiting stuff to recite Macbeth. be happy if you can make your order rightDear Mirjana,we are greatly appreciate your kind words, that truly meant a lot to us.With love:Tenkes Team
Nice place, the atmosphere is good. Classic pop music, wood panelling, pleasant table service. The food is terrible though. They direly need a new chef. At this price range you cannot afford to mess up pasta (way too spicy whilst not even supposed to be spicy), as well as the meat (medium means totally over cooked) and the dessert (tiramisu should have been called different because it hardly resembled it).

Excellent food and service! Employees speak Croatian too. Portions of food are large and you can't get out still being hungry Lot of Balkan food included in meny.

Perfect for a quick bit when you are hungry and not too picky. The portions are not huge but humongous and prices are reasonable. Staff are young and inexperienced but do make an effort. Whilst they use a lot of salt and the fries were cold, the food is generally tasty.
