Things to do in Fonyod
We went here for a family supper. Traditional Hungarian fare of the schnitzel plus trimmings variety. The menu is in Hungarian, German and English and the dishes were arranged into starters, dishes with chicken, dishes with pork and those with fish. There was quite a choice but nothing jumped out at me as sounding especially appetizing. When the food came it tasted a lot better than I expected - I think it was a kind of pork wienerschnitzel with garlic, red onions and sour cream on sliced fried potatoes. Good that I had a big appetite as it was huge. The house white wine that came by the litre in a caraffe was good value and more than drinkable. The service was very friendly and our waitress took special care over the kids. We sat in a kind of barn set a bit back from the road which is pretty noisy but it was fine and not too cool as the night wore on. All in all a very relaxed and pleasant evening with hearty food and at around 1500 Ft per dish pretty good value.

Katica Restaurant is a well frequented, cosy place on the shore of lake Balaton in Badacsony. The place is owned by a family, the stuff and the service is very nice. The food is literally in front of you within seconds and prices are frendly too. You can choose between the indoor and terrace tables and bring your children with you if you like. Higly recommended place if you want to spend a lovely meal with your family or friends.

I have been at least 50 times at this restaurant . Very good food, looks very nice. It could reach almost a Michelin star, which is rare here around Keszthely. Very nice staff. Small card, with a lot of changes. You wonât find Wiener schnitzel on the menu card Especially the deserts are fantastic and the â rakott krumpli â. Sebastian

I dropped by this restaurant occassionaly, while travelling thru Fonyód and looking for a restaurant to have a proper food. Though it's located on a good spot (a few hundred meters from the beaches), this restaurant didn' impress me at all. The choice on the menu weren't great and the attitude of the waiters was terrible: they sat down to chat while I was eating and didn't pay attention at all that I was finished my dish and wanted to pay. That's one of the few restaurants I would like to suggest you to avoid.
2006- ban nyitott családias étterem. Frissensültek nagy választéka megtalálható nálunk. Hal ételek sokasága, keszeg, ponty, harcsa,békacomb stb. Ãttermünk arra törekszik, hogy környezetbarát termékeket használjon. Ãllatbarát hely vagyunk.
Hihetlen kellemes tapasztalat. Ãpp leültünk és a kedves 'pincér' már hozta is a westienknek a vizet. Hekket kértünk a kiegészÃtÅkkel. Kávé, kóla, vÃz, köret. Semmi extra. Ãm a kiszolgálás és az étel, ital minÅsége hihetetlenül jó volt. Nagyon jól esett a törÅdés kimutatása. Köszönjuk, visszatérünk.!

Went there this Saturday with friends and quick, nice and efficient service by a single young lady through-out the whole meal. Large portions, even the half soup was enough. they serve typical Hungarian dishes which are not low-calorie type of foods :-) At the end single payment option for each of us. I recommend the place for everyone.
Highly recommended place to eat, very fast and nice service, fresh inexpensive food, very tasty langos, one of the best I ever bought in Hungary.

Late lunch of soup to hold us over for dinner in Budapest that night, this little restaurant is staffed by people who want you to enjoy the food. Try the hot, spicy sauce that you put in your soup, made from paprika and chili. We ate "pancakes" (crepes) after, which were a treat.

This is the third or fourth time we have visited The Torony and it has always impressed. From the warmth of the welcome to the fantastic, freshly prepared food it is always a great meal. The menus are presented in multi languages and you have the option to eat inside or outside (covered)But best of all has to be the prices, a meal for 4, starters, mains and drinks about £70If you are in Fonyod, The Torony is definitely worth a visit

When you have found something really special - you want to keep the secret for yourself, and not share with everyone else. Just because it's your own special secret place. If you're on vacation in Balatonlelle, or staying on another side of Balaton Lake, or just passing by on autobahn and looking for a pitstop - drop everything and put Vitorlás Ãtterem on your roadmap. It's a must!I don't have enough words to describe this gastronomic shock, just come and swallow your tongue.
