A lovely, well kept establishment, with extremely friendly staff (including the dog!). The small cabins have Finnish names of the Snow White's seven dwarfs - funny. Only one minor disappointment: you have to walk a couple of hundred meters to reach the lake Puruvesi (clean waters!) - I guess we had imagined you'd only need to open the door of the cabin... Definitely a good choice, reasonably priced, a very decent breakfast.

We are also very happy to organise your special events - from planning to the very last detail! Yömyssy Apartments is located conveniently in the countryside - by highway 71, only 15 km from Savonlinna and 5 km from Kerimäki. The bus stop is only a few hundred meters away from Yömyssy. It takes 15 minutes to drive to the Olavinlinna Castle and only 5 minutes to see the Kerimäki Wooden Church.
The apartments are located in an old school, but at least our apartment was quite homey. The rooms were clean and spacious, ideal for a family. Parking was free and the garden was safe for kids to run around. In summer there are redcurrants to pick in the garden... on the other hand, there was nothing to see within walking distance (but everybody arrives here by car so maybe not an issue...). Breakfast was average at best. There was no elevator. There was no shower in the apartment, just a toilet - there was a shared shower in the basement. I can't say anything about the staff as we didn't see it during our one night stay...

We had a room with 2 single beds, window facing to the parking lot. Bathroom was nice, but hot water took ages to flow. Breakfast was outside and it was nothing exceptional, but the view from the yard to the castle is 5 ?

Nestorinranta offers nature experiences in Puumala Archipelago at Lake Saimaa in Eastern Finland. You can accommodate in a cottage, room or a log granary, rent a bike or boat or go to a guided fishing tour or boat trip. You can also rent a sunset-sauna with a whirlpool on the terrace. A BBQ with fridge, stove, drinking water and dishes is available. In summer you can enjoy of the delicacies of our cow house cafe Nestori and a pancake kiosk on the beach. In our forest you can make a walk along the wellness paths. In summer you'll find also a nature path for children and a path about the story of Lake Saimaa after ice age. You are welcome!
Ihana, rauhaisa paikka lomailla. Puumalan saaristoreitin pyöräilyyn erinomainen tukikohta. Hinta-laatusuhde erittäin hyvä. Ihana henkilökunta, ruoka todella hyvää ja juuri avattu lettukahvila kruunasi paikan. Aivan upea, uniikki kohde. Yövyimme Tarunmökissä, joka oli täydellinen paikka yksityisellä rannalla. Vahva suositus! We can highly recommend Nestorinranta for a unique stay in Puumala area. Very beautiful place with lovely staff and great food. Tarunmökki was a perfect little cottage with a private beach and sauna.

First experience -the staff is excellent! And lucky us - booking.com did not sent them the booking confirmation but they still been able to find the cottage for us. Many thanks to them! The lake and the beach sauna - that is impressing, and somewhat romantic! On the reception you could buy a small warm snack and a glass of beer, it might help. Oh, no! The camping means what it means. Shared and heavily worn toilets, showers and kitchen - never again for me. That is the place for really dedicated campers or non-demanding or budget travellers. Simply there were no alternatives around Savonlinna this time. And its quite far from the main attraction - Saovnlinna town and its castle.

Newly renovated guesthouse with warm service. The owner's are super nice and also accommodation is top notch. If you need place to stay near Pieksämäki (or Montola Mine) - this is your place to be! The host is native British, so you can get excellent service in both Finnish and English language. The guesthouse is located next to their home, so please be polite and respect the property like it would be your own.

Kyyronkaita is part of the Finnish cancer association, they rent various wooden Cottages/rooms. It isn't an hotel. The resort is located in the forest at the border of a smal but very clean lake. At the lake site there is a little jetty for swimming and or kayaking. There is some noise from road 13, lucky there is not realy much traffic. 4/5. Our cottage is quite aged but all what we needed was available and reasonable clean. 4 single beds, 2 armchairs, 1 coach, a dinner table, 2 wooden banches, a tv, cabinets, kitchen, 2 electr.burners stove, refrigerator, all necessairy kitchen tools and dinnerware. Bathroom with shower/toilet and sink 3,5/5 Overall, price/performance/location etc. 4/5 By the way, the credit card machine doesn't work altough they advertize VISA payment is accepted. Finally we paid cash. We enjoyed our stay, practical for the one who likes nature and don't need luxe.

Definitely, that was our worst experience of hostelling ever. The room was completely worn out, all the furniture was super old and shabby, smelling like a granny's apartment. By the way, next door was an old stuff shop, so it was like to spend a night in a Finnish Kirputtori. Bed linen for extra 5 EUR. Kitchen and showers were extremely nasty (in a separate building so you need to take on back your shoes). Also, we noticed the sign that the property is for sale now so maybe that's why host doesn't care about guests too much.
