Koggala is a small coastal town, situated at the edge of alagoon on the south coast of Sri Lanka, located in Galle District, Southern Province, Sri Lanka, governed by an Urban Council. Koggala is bounded on one side by a reef, and on the other by a large lake, Koggala Lake, into which the numerous tributaries of the Koggala Oya drain. Lovely view overlooking the ocean, which you wouldnât expect from the roadside. Itâs peaceful and Baboo is super friendly. We had breakfast which was tasty with decent portions and fresh ingredients. Itâs fairly priced for the setting and the food, a happy medium between expensive western places and very cheap local ones.

Such a great family run restaurant, really small but offers incredible home cooked local cuisine at great prices. The family are all really friendly and the food was absolutely fantastic. So much better than going to a big chain restaurant or tourist spot. You can tell the dishes are all freshly prepared using local ingredients. Will definitely go again when in Weligama and recommend all who visit the area to go for a meal at Meewitha.
