My family & I just wanted somewhere to chill out after 2 1/2 weeks travelling around Sri Lanka. We stayed at the Flower Garden Unawatuna and we so happy with our decision to stay. We were met by the owner Sassi & his wonderful staff. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom chalet and it was great! The staff are so friendly & go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The grounds are immaculate, the buffet breakfast was lovely, 2 swimming pools, lovely grounds surrounded by beautiful gardens, coconut trees & an ambudance of wildlife including monkeys, lizards, squirrel, frogs, birds etc.... It's about a 5-10 min walk to the beach & plenty of restaurants nearby but to be honest the hotel restaurant is great beautiful food there too. I highly recommend this hotel for its cleanliness but most of all the great staff. We will be back.

Stumbled across this place as we were looking for some sunbeds to have a relaxing last day in Sri Lanka. Sunbeds were free to use if you bought food/drink or hired a paddleboard! We planned on spending the day & having lunch so a great deal. Run by a super friendly team, local lads & a British couple. Tried various delicious smoothies & the Beetroot & Feta salad & cheese toastie my friend had were great. Water is served by the glass, awesome to see a little less plastic in circulation.Definitely recommend regardless of whether or not you hire a paddleboard!Thank you for your awesome review. We feel VERY STRONGLY about reducing the single use plastic and we really enjoy working together as a team to make our space nice and welcoming for all guests. It was great to meet and we are so pleased you stumbled across our little slice of paradise. Thank you for spending time and for your support -take care :)

My wife and i ate here on our last night in sri lanka. Huge security presence all around galle fort which made us feel very safe. Police, navy and military armed and searching at the entrance put us at ease.Gorgeous food here. I got the prawns cooked in garlic. Finger licking good. Food was nice,however over priced. Atmosphere was excellent, even u visit alone you will not feel board.Stayed back for the beach party which stared on a positive pitch while the manager was on control. The music which was played by the DJ is really questionable ????Rated 3 star purely for the beach party music,entrance for ladies will be free, guys you need to get tickets. All booze will be charged extra. Would have extended a better service and different type of music to suit all, for the amount that was charged.

I couldnât recommend Aqua Forte any more. We stumbled upon the restaurant by accident as we wandered around Galle on a day trip. We decided to go along the following night for our anniversary. We booked via instagram. The restaurant is welcoming and beautifully decorated. The attentive and friendly staff gave us a lovely table tucked away beside the water feature and greenery and under a little alcove. The head chef greeted us on arrival and took our order for aperitifs. We honestly couldnât decide what weâd go for as every single item on the carefully selected menu looked beautiful. We are never this stuck in a restaurant! In the end, we went for starters, a pasta course to share, main courses and desserts, with accompanying wine pairings. We had no intention of having such a decadent meal but Aqua Forte left us with no option! We wanted to try as much as we could.The tuna carpaccio and cheese/pork board were beautiful starters and the rabbit ragu pasta was the best pasta weâve ever had. We then had the pork belly and parmigianno mains which were both outstanding. The tiramisu and panna cotta were delicious also. The real star of the show at Aqua Forte is the head chef, Roberto. Itâs such a special experience to have the knowledgable guidance of the head chef who is very present on the restaurant floor. Upon request, his expert opinion helped us form many of our meal choices and all of our wine pairings. Heâs charming, friendly, an exceptional chef and clearly very passionate about his job. Our meal at Aqua Forte which really happened by chance turned into a night weâll never forget, both of us saying itâs the best meal and restaurant experience weâve ever had. We canât wait to return and will make sure we do in the coming years. Thank you for dining at AQUA Forte and thank you for your great review! We are glad that you enjoyed the authentic Italian experience, a little corner of Italy in Sri Lanka and that you returned several times. Both the pasta and pizza were good at this restaurant. The wine was better than most other restaurants too. It's down a side alley off the main drag so it was quiet. We had a lovely meal and would recommend.

We had dinner at Black and White restaurant last night. The most beautiful setting on the beach lit by candlelight. Our waiter was fantastic and so friendly!We went to have a look at todayâs fish which was freshly caught that day and had it all explained by the head chef (who was also great and very friendly!). We went with the jumbo prawns and tiger prawns and oh my goodness!! They were cooked in a garlic butter sauce and were INCREDIBLE! And we had finger bowls which is the first restaurant that has provided us with these this trip (without asking)!Highly recommend Black and White restaurant to anyone visiting Unawatuna. Our most favourite meal whilst in Sri Lanka and that is saying something as the food has been fabulous. Service makes the experience even better. Celebrated birthday dinner with my wife. The bruschetta was beautifully presented and tasty (both the olive/feta and normal version) and the (large) pizza one of the best after a month travelling in SL - we took half a pizza home. Ambiance is comfortable and laid back and the pizza chef and wood fired oven located at the front of the restaurant the centre of attention. The relative expense is offset by good quality. Friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Came here on the recommendation of locals and we were not disappointed. Great little find down a narrow alleyway off main road. Food was superb - all freshly cooked, great choice on the menu, homemade, huge portions. We had a starter and a main and ended up ordering an extra of humous to take home as it was so nice.Plenty of choice if you wanted to return.
