Farsund (help·info) is a municipality in Vest-Agder county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Lister. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Farsund. Visited this restaurant with friends from California in July - their choice as they were staying in the area - my 1st thought was oh boy a hotel restaurant yuck. Tried the hand peeled shrimp (reker) sandwich as it was very reasonably priced (72 NOK) in this expensive country. Quality was outstanding and a very large open face sandwich just like you would make it if you peeled your own reker. Others had polse, reker and Fish Soup and all were excellent. Stopped again in August with other friends for lunch - my recommendation this time, and again were very pleased with the quality of the food and the reasonable prices. Items ordered on the 2nd visit were Karbonade, Chicken burger (a fried chicken breast sandwich) and grilled beef with tzaiki sauce. Restaurant is simple inside, not very fancy but very clean. You find a table (each has a number), choose your selection from the decent sized menu, go to bar counter to order, pay and tell them your table number. In a short time they deliver your food to the table. We have only had lunch so I can not speak to the dinner menu, but the place was pretty busy for lunch on both of our visits this summer. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

If you are the 1st ordering coffee you can chose whatever coffee you want and they will make it for you (as dagenskaffe). It is nice place to sit (you can do it inside or outside) and they also have some place for children where they can play.In general is a very nice place with friendly staff and good prices. Having a cod dinner (skrei) with friends which was excellent. Nice served at the table together with all additional for such a meal including aquavit. The waitresses were nice and helpful giving excellent service to all of us. All in all a very good meal at a nice restaurant.
