The ancient seaport of Ashkelon dates back to the Neolithic Age. In the course of its history, it has been ruled by the Ancient Egyptians, the Canaanites, the Philistines, the Assyrians, the Babylonians, the Greeks, the Phoenicians, the Hasmoneans, the Romans, the Persians, the Arabs and the Crusaders, until it was destroyed by the Mamluks in 1270.

We had lunch in Mai Way and tried the business lunch deal. The food was pretty good and conformed to the usual fair in Israeli Asian eateries. The portions were ample and the service was very good and friendly. The price was decent. If you are looking for a good lunch at a reasonable price and do not expect special or gourmet food, this is the place.

Conveniently located in the new Globus commercial center on the southern outskirts of burgeoning Ashkelon, Japanika adds yet another fine eatery to the many now serving this rapidly developing city. Aesthetic in design, the resto concentrates on serving popular Asian dishes that are authentic, tasty and visually appealing. The dishes are also hot upon arrival! The attitude, professional service and friendly reception could not be faulted!Without doubt, this establishment should be an asset to the Southern district.

Place is nice and very popular, food is tasty. I visited it several times before and everything was good: atmosphere, food and service. This time everything was good again except the level of service. It is evident that it has dropped comparing with the level of service they provided in the beginning. I wish they could improve it as I will thing twice before going to this place again.
