Popular with tourists as they serve the usual euro style cooked breakfasts along with local touches as well. We had 2 x coconut pancakes with banana, bacon and maple syrup - really lovely. Though thick pancakes, not the usual thin sort, lovely and crunchy on the outside, which was rather delicious. Also the spicy mince on toast w bacon n egg on top was well worthy for my man, very tasty and filling he said.Well worth a stop, once or twice!

We had lunch here after checking out a few places in town which had very limited vegan options. Then we came along this gem.The food was fantastic, we ordered: vegan nachos, vege stack with tofu and vegan pumpkin and tofu curry.Food was well priced for a tourist area and tasted great. And it helped having multiple vege and vegan options!Definately worth checking out

This is a little gem. Just outside the centre of Avarua, at the town end of Punanga Nui Market, this little cafe offers great food at a budget price. If you are looking for good tasty food without all the bells and whistles then this is the place to find it. The menu looked quite extensive, but we never got past the various Turkish bread sandwiches. CLT, BLT, SLT or our favourite, the FLT where the F was for Fish - a great big Tuna steak cooked to perfection - the best on the island in our opinion.Only downside was in the selection of drinks available - no, we weren't looking for espresso, wouldn't expect it here, in fact it would spoil the place. But a selection of local fruit juices or diet drinks beside the ubiquitous Diet Coke would have been welcome. That's the reason we weighed up between an excellent and a VG rating, but in the end decided that price and the FLT rated an 'Excellent'. The Drift Inn is not open on Saturday, which is Market Day, but seems to be open on most other days at lunchtime - and for evening meals on a couple of other days of the week, Thursday and one other. No licence so BYO should be OK, but perhaps best to check first.
