My wife and I took advantage of the 15% savings on the âIcelandic three course dinnerâoffered to guests staying here (our staging hotel for the Glacier Lagoon.) We are so glad we did! I ordered food unique to Iceland â fresh cod served sashimi style with sliced cucumber on top, barley and vegetables served like a risotto, and for desert skyr with cucumbers and a meringue crisp. My wife had potato leek soup, poached Arctic char and a unique white chocolate mousse served on top of plums. So much flavor! The only hiccup was the the restaurant has a new manager and is changing the wine list. So the only red wine was a Louis Latour Pinot sold by the glass, and too was really good. Service was great in that our server steered to what turned out to be very good options, and was attentive. Weâre from California so not too much sticker shock on the bill especially considering food quality, ambience and that service is included.

Spent two nights/three days here exploring the south coast. If you're thinking of visiting Iceland for the first time and don't know what to expect, like I did, you're probably wondering to yourself what hotels are like, food, the experience, the people. Vik, a small town of about 300 is a great stop if you're thinking of visiting the airplane site, the GoT beach, waterfalls, or the glaciers. The hotel is spread out across multiple buildings hidden situated a few hundred meters from the road. Rooms are cozy, not spartan; tv with BBC channel, small desk and small bathroom. The buildings themselves are close to the base of a mountain/hill/whatever you want to call it. I call that out because during our stay, a crazy storm with high winds was coming off the island, but we were buffeted by the elevation behind us. Breakfast in the morning definitely caters to tour bus groups, but honestly, if you're visiting Iceland, I highly recommend doing your own thing; go at your own pace, rent a car, because this way you skip the crowds during the breakfast buffet, which consisted of some bomb bread, a waffle maker, cheeses and cold cuts, rhubarb jelly - which is something I want in the US - and hot coffee and teas. You also don't have to be up early and on a bus at 7 am. You can pace yourself, grab breakfast a little later, and go at your leisure. It helps to fill up during long days of hiking and walking. At night, the menu is also buffet style, but they do have the bar and an a la carte menu for soup, pizza, etc. This hotel is a bit outside the town, but close enough to the gas station and the grocery store to fill up on snacks, water.

Restaurant Berg is located in Icelandair Hotel Vik and it is a first-rate restaurant. Every effort has been made to create a generous Icelandic à la carte menu focusing on using produce from the nearby area. Our goal is to send your taste buds on an excit
Delicious starters -mushroom soup and scallops with fennel and orange slices. The rack of lamb was succulent, the beef tenderloin was also perfectly cooked. The Artic Char was tasty but not so soft. For dessert, the chocolate mousse and parfait was great and the Skyr eas ok.

Ströndin Pub VÃk is a modern pub where you can come and relax after a long day of exploring beautiful Iceland. Because of our great location just a few meters from the world-famous Black Sand beach, you can watch sun setting down behind spectacular Reynis
Reasonable prices considering its Iceland. Pasta dish was tasty and filling. Bread needs to be served with the meal. We went early so we got out before it got busy. Only twp people on the floor!Thank you for the review James!I'm really glad to hear that you find our prices reasonable. Considering other businesses in area we are on the cheaper side but I'm proud to say that it doesn't have any influence on the quality of the dishes we serve. It's great that you liked our pasta. Our pasta gained high popularity through the years and it's definitely one of the most popular items on the menu with great feedback from our guests. We are providing bread with any meal upon request to avoid unnecessary waste of food and of course, the bread is free of charge.I'm sorry to hear that you consider our service slow. This is our first winter season that we will be open and we still trying to figure out shift patterns to effectively cover rush hours. I'm aware that there are moments when a restaurant can get really busy in a very short period of time and trust me, my team and I, we are working hard on getting those periods under control so our guests get all the attention and quality service they need. It's just something new to us but I feel confident to say that at the moment I'm writing this response we already find the solution to this situation.Once again thank you for your time!

Traveling through Vik and found this place on trip advisor. Cute place, nice staff, smaller menu but food came out fresh and fast! Burgers and pizza for us. All of it was good but they brought out jelly to go with the pizza! I know it is an Icelandic tradition to eat pizza with jelly, but just no and I have forbid it in my Italian home in the US!

RESTAURANT & BAR We offer fresh meals made with love and local ingredients. The restaurant is located in an old and charming house on the top of a hill with amazing view of the ocean, town and surrounding mountains. In the renovated basement we have a bar
I ordered the best on the menu, lamb filet. It was tough meat, and bland. I hate going out to eat for a meal I could cook better at home. Very disappointed. It is an expensive restaurant and I expected MUCH better. I do not recommend this place.
