We stayed several nights at the hotel and dined here our first night. The bartender outside the restaurant was very pleasant for our welcome drink. Once inside the restaurant, it took a while to be seated even though it wasn't crowded, and then it took even longer just to have a waiter come take a drink order. Staff was not overly friendly although the breakfast team was a little better both mornings. The dinner was pricey for not the best seafood although the lobster bisque was flavorful.

The Bistro is located on the ground floor of Stracta hotel. Our guests can enjoy a variety of dishes during both lunch and dinner time.
Food: 10/10Service: 8/10Environment: 9/10I booked for dinner at 18:00. We arrived early, thinking we could sit and have a drink. We were told to return at 18:00!But the bar downstairs had excellent Christmas ale and we found comfortable seats. The restaurant finally opened at 18:02 and we were treated with a fantastic spread of foods. There was smoked lamb, smoked salmon, roasted lamb and pork, cod, and a large variety of vegetables. Everything was perfectly prepared. The problem was there was no labels on anything. So we had to ask what some of the obscure foods were.Deserts were also great, with the Icelandic oatmeal special. I don't know what the other regular foods at this restaurant are ,like, but if you're in Iceland for Christmas, it's hard to imagine a better dinner!
