If you are looking for the place talking with your friends at night, I recommend you to go to 'The frypan'. The frypan is a restaurant which serves fried chicken with potato chips. This restaurant opens at 5:00pm and close at 2:00 am so you can enjoy taking a late-night snack. There are a lot of messages on the fence that people scribble down so you can read it for fun during waiting for food. Before food, master gives you snacks and you can ask for supplement. The menu consists of main dish(Fried chicken with potato chips), Beverages, and side menu(Salads, potato chips). The fried chicken costs 16,800 won, someone may think it is a high cost but it really fills the bill. The amount of main dish is a little bit much to eat all for 2 normal woman. The atmosphere of this restaurant is free and you can talk loudly. One thing I disappointed is that there are no division between smokers and non-smokers. If you are a smoker, it is good for not smoking inside for other customers. The service was really good. There are bells on each tables so if you want something, you just press it. Notice : You would better not wearing your precious clothes because the smells of fritter permeates your clothes well and it is hard to get rid of it.

If you are in the Dal-dong area of Ulsan, you should check out this great little Korean-style Japanese restaurant. It's speciality is cold, soba noodles that come with a delicious sauce. You can also order them as part of a set with a couple of Cho-baps (rice balls in a tofu pocket) and some Don-gat-su (pork covered in breadcrumbs and deep fried), which is nice and crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It's located in a side street behind the KBS building and the Ulsan Cultural Centre.

Interesting combination. we tried the 4 beers sampler n I think everyone should start off with that before getting the right beer for yourself. Dark Ale, Wheat beer, Pilsner & pale ale. Food is tasty but portions are very small.

A friend and his father brought me to this popular restaurant in Ulsan. We had the Hanu lunch meal. The beef was cooked in front of you by a server. She was kind, and provided excellent service. First she brought sweet pumpkin porridge (ho bak juk) and a cold radish soup. Side dishes included sashimi, tomatoes, lettuce, mushrooms, kimchi, fermented radish, mashed sweet pumpkin, etc. After we finished eating the grilled beef and king oyster mushrooms, she brought white rice and a soybean soup. The meal ended with a cold mae-sil which is made of Japanese apricots. Superb!

I visited this place along with my Korean hosts. Though the food was tasty, I felt it was a bit bland though the Koreans enjoy a bit spicy food. The staff was also a bit pushy with their recommended dishes. Otherwise service was good.
