Aunt Carries is about the most perfect clam shack there is. It's a seasonal restaurant, within sight of the Point Judith Lighthouse. Although there is often a long line to eat-in, we got lucky on a late season, cool Monday--there was almost no wait at all. However, the food remains excellent! Fish and chips, Fried clam strips, and fried whole belly clams were what this group enjoyed, along with clam chowder (clear and white, no one tasted the red this trip), cole slaw, real mashed potatoes, and apple pie. How much more perfect could it be? The fried items were tasty, not excessively breaded, and not greasy. Perfect amount of salt, which means that one of our group used the salt shaker, but the rest of us were satisfied. Selection of beers was good [they've recently gone from BYOB to licensed] and the most popular were local Rhode Island brews. The only note of disatisfaction was the price of a few dinners. I considered the steamed clams dinner-until I found out that the market price was $44! So I 'settled' for the fried whole bellies, which was a mere $27. I can't tell you if the steamed clams were worth the price, but the whole bellies certainly were.

Residing inside the historic Agassiz Mansion built in 1875, The Dining Room at Castle Hill Inn has been the backdrop of memorable occasions for over a century. The Forbes Four Star restaurant boasts a prix fixe menu showcasing the talents of Chef Lou Ross
We had a party of 5 attend lunch at Castle Inn. The service was disappointing, we had to ask multiple times for things, the waitress was very soft spoken and in the crowded room we were in it was very hard to hear her. There were fruit flies or gnats of some sort I felt we were swatting through the whole lunch, and we were inside. We were not impressed by the food selection, very limited. And some people did not enjoy their meals. The soups were not hot, the flavoring seemed bland especially on the lobster roll. For the price we paid we had far higher expectations. You are clearly paying for the location and view. We had drinks on the lawn after lunch, and that was almost worth the price we paid for the disappointing lunch. I would highly recommend eating somewhere else then going here to enjoy a drink on the lawn, gorgeous setting.

Really a nice location to watch the fishing boats going in and out. On the loud side as they had a wedding with DJ going on, a live guy playing guitar, and all the dinners. Food was above average but far from fine dining. I'd give this a better rating for a lunch place vs nice evening out for seafood. Staff was good at the hostess level, very average at the table and poor with the bar keep(never heard of a place you can't transfer your bar tab to the table for dinner).Hi Peter, sounds like you were here on a hectic night. I apologize that your experience did not meet your expectations. Next time I would suggest dining in our downstairs dining room, as both our live music and function room are upstairs. Normally it would not be any problem transferring your bar tab, so I am not sure what happened there. If you have any other comments or concerns, please reach out - [email protected]

Probably the best oysters Iâve ever experienced - the tasting platter of three types of oysters, clams and shrimp was phenomenal. The scallop ceviche with grapefruit starter also delivered a delicious sweet and sour mouthful.Mains did not disappoint either. Clam linguine was very tasty. Excellent wine list with reasonable markups and a great ambience made for a great evening
