We have heard so much about this place and finally had opportunity to visit the place for lunch. We tried fried muikku and fried game meat. The food was delicious and despite the place being crowded service was quick. Unlike many lunch place, dishes are prepared and served to individual order. While waiting for the main course to arrive, one can enjoy delicious soup and salads. The menu changes daily so there is chance to try several dishes on different days. Although its little far from the city center but it's worth a visit if you are fortress or harbor area.

This was the first restaurant that we tried in Holiday Club Saimaa and had our lunch. Though we reached late, the staff was ever smiling. The pizzas are really big in size and they have big portions of salads. So think before you order. :)I liked the restaurant very much. Delicious food, quick service and nice ambience. It was past lunch time so the restaurant was almost empty. They have a small aquarium also with nice colorful fishes.

This restaurant serves breakfast buffet in the mornings: Belgian Waffles are its speciality. In the evenings it serves a very good dinner. You have a tasting menu of 3 or 5 courses to which you can select a wine package of a matching wine to each course. Or you can opt for the á la Carte options, which was my choice. There was a surprise from the kitchen, amuse-bouche, which was followed by my starter of veal sweetbread. It was accompanied by cranberry jam and lingonberry jam, and a piece of dark malt bread. The acidity of the jams were perfect with the sweetness of the bread and the veal sweetbread that was perfectly cooked. My main course was Iberico pork. There was a piece of cheek and a cutlet with new potatoes, carrot and water grass.Unfortunately the cutlet with less fat was overcooked and dry, while the fattier piece was just perfect. They should have been cooked separately as they needed different cooking times. The setting of the food on the plate is very beautiful - you can enjoy you meal not only with you mouth, but with your eyes, too.The wine list was adequate, and quite moderately priced. And there were a number of wines by the glass, too.The service was friendly, and polite. The restaurant is casual. Although most of the customers seemed to be guests of the SPA hotel, you can also walk in from the street.Hello Juhani,Thanks for your excellent feedback. It is good to hear, that your restaurant experience was quite a match to our goals; to offer The artisan food, tasty components, a painting on a plate. We will check out your notes, and those cooking tips ; ) BR

Although a bit on the small side the dishes were really good. We had a meat plate appertizer, scampi risotto and chicken with creamy pepper sauce. All really good, except that there was maybe just a little bit too much salt in the pepper sauce. Our waiter was friendly but a somehow a bit absent minded.. She got the job done anyway.

Lalo's Menu looks diverse: something for everyone. Their restaurant has a warm athmosphere for the evenings. I liked their colorful salad buffet which is included in every main course. The amount of food was definately more than your stomach could take. They seem to be generous in that way.

My husband and I recently had lunch at Wolkoff. The ambiance was lovely and comfortable and the service was welcoming and attentive. For lunch, the restaurant offers a salad bar and a choice between two main dishes. The items at the salad bar were fresh and delicious and we enjoyed the eggplant parmigiana. If had spent more time in Lappeenranta, we would have returned to this restaurant for dinner.

We visited here twice during our visit to Lappeenranta for lunch. It is so amazing, the outside setting has this feel to it which is hard to describe but it is almost as though it wants to tell you a story, inside is amazing, its like stepping back in time or straight on to a movie set from history, just amazing. On both our visits the food was both very good and good value, if you get the chance to site outside looking over the lake do, it just builds on the atmosphere.Thank you for the feedback. Pleasant to hear that you enjoyed it. We want to maintain a 128-year-old building and bring out its stories, culture and history. Warmly welcome again.
