This bakery has the most amazing selection of cakes and slices, and the hummingbird cake is absolutely delicious. However, the seating arrangements are not to match. There are just two tables inside with eight chairs, the cakes are served in paper bags, and the drinks in cardboard cups! That said, my cappuccino with high froth is very well done.

After looking around for a nice place for breakfast, we settled on going to The Woolstore Cafe. I had a big cooked breakfast with an iced chocolate. My wife had an omelette with a cappochino. Both meals and drinks arrived on the table quickly and they were perfect. Very friendly service and an atmosphere that flowed all around us. Highly recommended.

Lunch with the family in a friendly vineyard that has great service. We ordered garlic bread and baked brie which came out quickly and was delicious. I would recommend the nectarine juice as a non alcoholic drink and any of the wines. The pizzas we had were tasty with plenty of cheese and were large in size, making it easy to share. The staff were friendly and efficient and great with the children. Would recommend it as a great stop for lunch if you are in the area.

Great ambience, great food, great service. Love their eggs with smoked salmon for breakfast! They also have wines and beers for later in the day.

Situated on a cliff top just ten minutes south of Oamaru is Coast Cafe and Restaurant. As the days warm up, people in the know head for beautiful Campbell's Bay and Kakanui for recreation. Coast Restaurant is an integral part of these day trips for good r
Six of us dined here last week which was our first time with new owner. All our meals were ok but with a few tweeks could have been even better. The comment about the steak was that it could be a little bit thicker otherwise good. I had the Moroccan lamb as a main with 3 pieces of lamb...I understand the entree size has 2 pieces so I wonder for $8 more for one little piece whether this is good value for money. Otherwise flavours were nice. Would also like to see a chicken dish and a curry for more variety on the menu.We love that we have a nice place that is so close to dine at and will certainly be back.

We'd been recommended this cafe on our way through Oamaru and we were looking forward to its offings. However, our arrival was past the usual lunch period, so we had only the cabinet from which to choose our mid-afternoon snack. What was on offer was lots of chocolate items and very little else, but I opted for a scroggin slice which was really sweet while the boss went without. My coffee was quite ok, but the chai was again very sweet yet weak.Neither of the two young ladies on duty appeared to be wanting to be at work, showing no real interest in their customers, providing lip service only.Perhaps the recommendation we'd received was for a different time of day or day of the week even, but that assumption aside, I doubt we'll return.
