Reviews on Seafood food in Canterbury Region, South Island, New Zealand. Christchurch, the Garden City, and the Canterbury region are the perfect destination for daredevils. From northern Kaikoura to Waimate in the south, Canterbury is an adventure sports paradise. Hangliding, helibiking, bungee jumping, snowboarding, jetboating, rafting and skydiving get the adrenaline going. Golfing, flightseeing, swimming with dolphins and soaking in thermal pools are more laid-back temptations. Christchurch, a city of parks and gardens, is the countrys third largest urban area.

The site is superb and undoubtedly the best outlook in Kaikoura, with panoramic vistas of the Kaikoura Ranges and sweeping views of Ingals' Bay from the bar and restaurant. Come and see for yourself. We are open for lunch and dinner every day so come on i
Breaking my journey for the night in Kaikoura elected to eat at this restaurant right on the beach,as I had had a great meal there before. I chose the second most expensive dish on the menue, half a crayfish. The most expensive was a whole crayfish! It did not disappoint! Even the salad and herbed fries were tasty and I am not even a salad person.

Overlooking Dailey's wharf and the Akaroa Harbour, Ma maison is one of Akaroa's hidden gems. The view speaks for itself! Set away from the hustle and bustle, our Restaurant offers a very private dining experience, one to be enjoyed and savoured. Since 200
Tash and I went for dinner at this lovely portside restaurant with views of the esplanade and out across stunning Akaroa foreshore. The staff were very friendly and efficient without encroaching on our personal space. The drinks list was broad and we took advice from a very experienced woman on the food selection. It was a sunny afternoon in October and the ambience of the location really completed a great dining experience. Both of our meals arrived in a timely manner and both were perfectly cooked. The wine list was broad and again we took advice on our selection which was on the money. After dinner, sweets and a good coffee we asked to take a cheeseboard with us which they neatly packaged and we ate back at our air b'n'b later that night. It was also first class. Great, friendly service with excellent food and wine selections made for a very pleasant dining experience in a superb location.

This is my kind of place. Smart, sophisticated ambience, great decor and lighting, tables with dressed with white linen cloths, and, of course, great food and service. This was our second visit but first time for dinner. Service was confident and attentive, food was great, champagne perfectly chilled and presented, prices fair and reasonable. My only suggestion would be that they work on their dessert menu, just to offer a little more choice (but please, not Affogato). All in all a very enjoyable experience we'll definitely return for.

Fresh regional Kaikoura cuisine in a cheerful relaxed atmosphere at the Green Dolphin Restaurant + Bar Kaikoura, New Zealand.
We had a wonderful evening at the Green Dolphin. The Green Lip Mussels were an absolute triumph - absolutely delicious, and my companions meals were also delicious. Lamb and Beef were all cooked to perfection. Dee, the front of house, and our waitress for the evening was delightful, friendly and accommodating. We would not hesitate in recommending the Green Dolphin for a meal - in fact it is a MUST visit!

My first visit was on a beautiful day so sat outside at table with my lab and had the tastiest burger ever with scrumptious french fries and a beer. Attended to by very friendly staff who were happy with my dog at my feet. I will be back!
