Rock Ferry Restaurant is owned by husband and wife team Tom and Fiona, proud producers of world-class certified organic wines, made right here in New Zealand. Our philosophy is to make real wines which speak of their home; to express the pure distinct fla
We arrived from a wine tasting at Cloudy Bay who recommended the Rock Ferry for lunch. A picture perfect setting surrounded by vineyards set the scene. We received a warm welcome and were soon seated in the dining area. All staff were amazing, friendly and helpful. Starters were the artisan warm bread selection with a bowl of mixed olives which was just right. The Pinot Noir from Otago was perfect with our dishes. Mains of salmon sourced from near Mt Cook was outstanding, set on a bulgar salad with brocoli, spinach and rocket. After such a fabulous mains we had to try the dessert and the poached pear and almond with icecream rounded out our lunch with a coffee. A party next to us was celebrating a birthday and the staff obliged with a cake. The atmosphere was so relaxing and even though the menu options were limited, the quality was high. You will not be disappointed!

Hans Herzog Estate is one of New Zealandâs most treasured, truly artisan wineries. Settled in 1994 in the heart of Marlborough within the most beautiful gardens Herzogâs offers casual luxury and indulgence for food and wine lovers. Unfettered by commercia
Hans Herzog was recommended on Wine Enthusiast, I believe, and I believe I will never trust that source again as most of the places I went based on recommendations from that platform were snobbish and overrated, Hans Herzog being one of those. My husband and I decided to splurge on lunch. My husband ordered the steak. First of all, they use a sirloin cut, which is good if you are on a diet, but does not have the fat content to satisfy a diner paying top dollar. Also, they didn't give him a steak knife?!? Rookie mistake. I ordered the gnocchi and was also underwhelmed with the lack of flavor and kid-like display. The grounds are picturesque, but not worth the pricey dollar sign on the lackluster lunch. If you want a truly amazing meal, drive southeast toward Oamaru and eat at Riverstone Kitchenâbest restaurant on the South Island, hand down.

An old English style Pub serving meals & daily specials with a fully stocked bar, including local craft beers. Accommodation is available as well as bike hire to visit local wineries. Open from 10am everyday excluding Christmas Day and Good Friday.
I've got to say first off we aren't great pub goers. We had wine rather than beer which was just ok. It is a local hangout, so was busy in spurts and service not to attentive. The beer garden wasn't particularly beautiful.

Named after the original walnut trees that lined the entrance to the winery, lunch at our Twelve Trees Restaurant is a must for visitors, and locals alike. The great food and relaxing atmosphere, whether in the sheltered courtyard, or inside by the fire,
Took the opportunity to book an evening meal at Twelve Trees for a birthday celebration. Welcomed at the door, lovely table close to the fire and friendly, efficient service. My meal was one of the best I have had the pleasure to experience. Well thought out dishes with a fantastic blend of flavours, without "trying too hard". Absolutely loved the beets and goats cheese and the ginger medley dessert was gorgeous (ok I'm a huge ginger fan). All reasonably priced too. Thanks to the team at Twelve Trees for memorable evening out.Thank you so much for choosing our restaurant to celebrate your birthday. I'm so pleased it was a memorable evening for you, and you loved the food and service. Thank you so much for the review. We look forward to seeing you again.

Absolutely the best meal I have had in a restaurant for years. Faultless in taste, presentation and service. It has been a long time since I felt like my meal has been created from start to finish by a chef, as opposed to a cook. Can not recommend highly enough. It is our privilege to offer their wonderful creations to our guests and see how well their efforts and expertise are enjoyed. We hope to see you again soon.

Marlborough has a special place in the hearts of the Giesen brothers. To celebrate this, and the wines they create, in late 2011, 30 years after their arrival in New Zealand, they opened a Cellar Door in the heart of the region's wineries. Situated in the
Called in for a wine tasting and decided as we were hungry to stay and try their platters. What exceptional platters, we ordered two and they more than satisfied the four of us. Wine Tasting was great too. Well worth a visit. Great staff. Highly recommend.

We ate lunch here twice during our stay as the food was excellent and the service also good. The mussel chowder was delicious and the salmon salad contained a tasty variety of ingredients. Inside you are warmed by a huge fireplace and outside the sun shines on the tables. You are welcome to do a wine tasting which is fun.

Special location, people/owners and the food and wine selections are to die for.Great in the day or evenings. Liz & Bradley have created a great knowledgeable crew around them. Thus the whole crew assist and become catalysts to create an enjoyable overall experience that I find clears away the stress's of the day and supports the "togetherness factor' between those who you are with and the Arbour Crews.
