Caesar salad was well presented, included chicken as a bonus(didn't pay or ask for chicken) and more than one could eat. Sorry I can't say the same for the other meals at our table. The mixed grill was well below expectations.

Initial impression from the outside is a larger venue, inside relatively tidy but crumbs on our chairs and food items on the floor under the table. Attentive staff but little finesse, Did âewesâ enjoy your meal and a waitress with her name badge upside down is a little basic for somebody marketing as slightly upmarket.Menu is relatively basic but meals were hearty, tasty and large. Would return.Hi Central 88, thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. I'm pleased you enjoyed your meals, they definitely are a decent size! Sounds like a few things were missed when clearing the table prior to you, and that there are a couple of things that need readjusted so to speak that we will aim to get straightened out.

Relaxed Dining & Wine Tasting. Restaurant, Cellar Door with wine tasting and retail pantry . Produce for the menu supplied from own garden, alongside our wine and preserves.
Stopped here by chance as snow had temporarily blocked the Haast Pass. Excellent food in front of a lot burning stove and the non driver had the Sauvignon Blanc made on site. Really recommended

Stopped in for a quick lunch while on holiday. We went for cheese rolls and milk shakes, the milk shakes came promptly they were just ok, fairly watery. The cheese rolls werenât far behind the flavour was good, we had one each as they are large.Nice location we sat outside on a sunny day, the place was busy with lots of locals coming through

Carrick winery is totally snobbish and not serious about their wines. Its General Manager drinks wine from a coffee mug with pride. Seriously don't recommend it. Here is my terrible experience with Carrick Winery: We reserved a table for a group of 20 people and pre-ordered 17 meals for lunch today. Upon arrival, the waitress first insisted that we must order another three meals before sitting us to our table (yes, we are NOT ALLOWED to sit and place orders). Then, we order Pinot Gris as the starter to go with our meals. They serve tumblers to match with the white wine. Considering we are a sizeable group, we didn't really complaint about it, though it is not common to serve wine in tumblers at a formal meal. However, the service getting worst when we switched to red wine, Pinot Noir, the waitress did not bring in any new glasses and said that you may use the same tumblers for it. I was astonished and said, 'This is a winery. It is beyond imagination to ask your guests to use the same tumblers for Pinot Gris to drink Pinot Noir. The waitress was surprised by my knowledge of wine and reluctantly brought back several (about 4) Cabernet Sauvignon glasses and said we don't have enough for all people. While I was "amused" by the waitress' lame answer on one hand, I was asking again for the matching glasses for my Pinot noir. Her reply was indeed incredible, 'That glass is for the expensive Pinot noir'. 'Excuse me!' I couldn't believe what I heard and that really renews my knowledge of wine. The waitress finally brought several glasses that matches my Pinot noir under my request, but the total number of glasses still short behind the number of my guests. After the meal, I decided to give suggestion to the general manager of the winery, who is another unbelievable snob and saying that he would drink wine from a coffee mug. That really puts me speechless and makes me so much want to tell the world about this "incredible winery" in New Zealand. Please do stay away from this snobbish winery with a GM proudly drinking wine from a coffee mug.

The Bannockburn Hotel is a Wine Country Restaurant and Bar is just across the bridge from Cromwell, a thriving township in the heart of Central Otago. We are privileged to look out over some of the finest vineyards in the world. Weâve seen the Gold Rush o
What an amazing find - to what seems like "out in the back blocks" for a city chick. Food and wine that would put many city restaurants to shame.First off, Anna's welcome and explanation of the menu was excellent. and great service from the other front of house staff. The tasting/sharing plates menu is a delight to read - and absolutely delivers on taste experiences. Each dish presented delightfully and easy to share with the four of us. What I especially liked was the fact that we received four of every taste - even if the menu stated "3 of" so no having to fight the other diners to get a taste of any of the items. The wine list is something else..... so great to have the opportunity to taste, by the glass, a range of excellent quality Central Otago wines - and at a very reasonable price. And once again, Anna comes to the fore - her understanding of those wines, and their food match is excellent.I whole heartedly recommend you visit for lunch or dinner. The establishment looks like the traditional old Kiwi pub from the outside, so don't be fooled into thinking you are only going to get the old-fashioned boring pub food.

Cross the bridge over the Mighty Kawarau River to join us in our idillic Central Otago setting, surrounded by Wild Thyme and rocky outcrops.
4 of us went for lunch to celebrate a special Birthday. The food was outstanding, as was the service. Was a cooler day outside but the atmosphere inside the restaurant was cozy and inviting. We all agreed was one of the best meals around! Not to mention the craft beer & wines!

The Winery Restaurant at Mt Difficulty provides a relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy a delicious lunch. The restaurant is open daily between 12 noon and 4pm. On a fine day the outdoor terrace is the perfect spot to take in the flavours of the region whi
We've had lunch here a few times, and it new fails to please. You have to book ahead to get a choice of table - terrace in the fine weather (looking up the Cromwell valley), or inside in the cooler months. The food is just stunning, and if you do a tasting first you can decide what wine you want with lunch. Highly recommended - but book ahead, it's always busy.

The Office had a really nice atmosphere and was the seats were very comfortable. I thought the menu had some good options to choose from. I had the roasted lamb and it was very good and to follow I had the desert special, a sticky date pudding, which was also very good. Overall a very enjoyable meal and look forward to visiting again on my next visit to the area. Look forward to seeing you again, hope you enjoyed your stay in cromwell.
