Find out what Italian restaurants to try in Delft. Vermeer’s birthplace and a true gem, Delft sits between The Hague and Rotterdam in the country’s southwest. The city’s name comes from the Dutch word for digging, fitting since canals are a highlight here. Others include the 13th-century Old Church, the 15th-century New Church and the Prinsenhof, once home to William of Orange and now a museum. Delft has long been a center for fine ceramics, and traditional hand painting methods can still be witnessed at Koninklijke Porceleyne Fles.

This place has to be avoided at all costs, We had very bad service to start with, Wrong meal being brought to the table. It was a sunny day so we sat outside. The food was nice but the owner of the place was just so rude. When we where ready to leave I went inside to pay, The owner turned around and said you will just have to wait. I explained that I just wanted to pay. He shouted back at me "Well every one just has to wait". He refused to let his staff give me a bill. After about 5 minutes I was able to find a member of staff and pay a Bill. I say pay a bill as I was never given a bill to look at just an amount I had to pay.I went back to try and ask for a receipt but again the owner was very rude to me, When one of his staff tried to help he just shouted at them to get back to work and not help me.I live in delft and would NEVER recommend. this place. Having been treated like a leper To finalize, The food is ok but there is much better in Delft, The owner does not care about his staff or his customers.Good day sir and thank you for your response. I'm sorry you felt that way, it is our intention to make everybody leave feeling happy. It was a very busy day that day and we had a waitress outside to take care of the payments. It was simply too busy for people to pay inside. And when it's that busy, indeed: people have to wait their turn. We would love to see you come again.

Beautiful restaurant in the middle of Delft. Great atmosphere in a beautiful and historic building. We had a five course dinner with a group. Antipasti, soup, maincourse a selection of cheese and a desert. Everything tasted excellent, fine wines and friendly and helpful service. What a treat, we had a most enjoyable evening.

Nice little corner restaurant. I had the 3 couse fixed menu while the hubby ordered just the beef entree. Starter was excellent, but main courses were small for the price. 2 adults, couple of small beers and house wine was about 60 Euro ($70 US). Gals serving were very nice, but seemed to be short staffed with a restaurant only 60% full.

At the most cozy and culinairy square in the heart of Delft you find Fratelli. Classic Italian Dishes combined with seasonal specicialties. open for Lunch and dinner and when then sun is out you can enjoy our large terras in the buzzeling square.
Always on the look out for a good Italian restaurant. Here is the quick and dirty:What we liked:- food is prepared very fast. Within 13 min of ordering we had our food at the table.- pizzas were delicious. Not gonna blow you off your feet - câmon itâs pizza! But there are plenty of ways you can ruin a pizza, so the pizzas here are definitely of the âI wish I had more of thisâ kind. Yum.- carbonara was top notch! Creamy, perfectly al dente! - ravioli was also excellent. Savoury, perfectly al dente What we didnât like:- One of the few places that are still not offering free tap water. Donât understand this - most countries in the world have been providing free tap water for decades. Holland is one of the few that for some reason that prohibits this. Things to consider:- very dark inside but they do their best with candle lighting. - outside is nice but very very busy! And full of smokers. Good luck finding a place outside without getting whiffs of cigarette smoke. We moved inside for this reason. Conclusion:- two pizzas, carbonara, ravioli and 1L of water = 48.50 EUR. Not shabby. Good value really except for the fact that the water was 6 EUR. - would recommend coming back for the food. - would have received five stars if not for the pricey water.

A small great Italian restaurant in the center of Delft. Owned by Italian brothers this restaurant serves classic but very good Italian food. Great pizza too. Their signature dish is Pasta Al Tartufo, they prepare it at the table. Delicious. A must go when in Delft and you want a nice Italian dinner. Probably best to make a reservation, the place was packed.

This is a very nice place with authentic menu and great wine list. That's why I was disappointed because of the non al dente pasta. It was overcooked I guess because of the internal guests... But a real Italian place has to follow the tradition... Pasta = al dente

Il Tartufo might seem like they just do catering but they have a wonderful deli where you can sit down to eat.
This is a deli and a restaurant combined. It has a lovely authentic feel to it and is very homely with wooden floors. The staff are friendly and are genuinely wanting you to have a good dining experience! We were a bit confused about how the pricing works so just ask! They have prices for the food they sell and then a menu for the sit down food. We had stunning lasagne and a gorgeous wine recommended by the owner. I did not notice until later but you can do a lunch time special for â¬19.50 which includes antipasti, pasta and dolce. Iâd return again for sure!
