We visited Matroos and het meisje on a Friday. We had to make reservations because it was fully booked earlier and no wonder: The food is excellent and so is the wine. We really enjoyed it..

What can you say; you need to book weeks, or even months in advance. It's so popular because it's so special. Chef Yamamoto combines traditional Japanese cuisine with local dutch ingredients. He investigates and researches the best of both worlds. Not always with outstanding results but always an exciting experience. And then you can get a sake, directly imported from Japan, to match most every dish. The only downside, you can't get in on a spur of the moment..

Great food, great hospitality, great beer. A couple of hours after arriving in Rotterdam, we found this cafe for dinner. Immediately the staff made us feel at home working through the menu and recommending beers. The food was sensational, croquettes, fish and chips and stewed beef. All reasonably priced too. A must visit when in Rotterdam.

Since traveling to my favorite holiday destination (Lisbon, Portugal) isn't something we can do on monthly basis, we decided to check out the Saboroso restaurant in Barendrecht. Being spoiled with all the culinary greatness Lisbon has to offer, we knew it would be very hard to please us. Well, Saboroso certainly did not disappoint us. On the contrary!Ok, the harbour in Barendrecht is not as beautiful as Praca do Commercio. But the location is quite good. A lovely, not too busy square near the harbour offers a nice view and that already brings you in the mood for a cozy evening. A perfect spot to order a bottle of vino verde and just enjoy the view. The menu offered classic Portuguese dishes. Like ameijoa or pasteis de bacalhau as a starter.Or bacalhau a bras or grilled octopus as a main dish. And yes, very tender and crispy charcoal grilled chicken which was really perfect. The menu does not have too much choice, but there is plenty enough to choose from. Definitely quality over quantity here. Prices are also somewhat above average (check the website for the menu & prices) but then again, it's value for money. All in all it was a wonderful evening. great service by the owner (from Lisbon, actually) and his wife. The wine recommendation was excellent and went along fine with the dishes we'd chosen.

The place is very friendly with a great level of service. The food is amazing. As a French it was a positive shock to discover such a place in Rotterdam. Most Paris restaurant should stop by and learn. Price are very reasonable for the quality. Congratulations

I had not too much time. Just wanted to have a quick but not too quick dinner. I was pleasantly surprised with gentle and speedy service. Especially if you have an appointment later on you donât want your dinner in the last 15 minutes. Quality of food is great. Everything nicely prepared. Not too hot, not too cold, not too raw, not overcooked. Exactly right !!! In the end I had time to write this review rather than speeding to my appointment!

Reading all enthusiastic ratings, we were expecting high quality cuisine. Though there was nothing wrong with the food or the service, we were not impressed however. The menu is very classic with no room for creativity and the wine is not fascinating. Of course, if you are looking for just that, standard food, knowing what you are going to expect, than the restaurant will suite fine. It just doesnât match with the exciting reviews nor how the restaurant market themselves.

Eetcafe Thailand is not in the city centre of Rotterdam. It is very near railway station Lombardijen. Parking you car for free. We had reserved a table in Eetcafe Thailand. It was full, both at the tables as at the high tables and at the bar. The atmosphere is a bit like in a small restaurant in Thailand itself: warm, little noisy and a busy open kitchen. A kitchen where everything is freshly made. We were with 3 people and ordered the main menu with soup and 5 main dishes. Added 2 extra soup (spicy with shrimp and spicy with chicken), 2 extra appetizers (6 meatballs and 3 Thai spring rolls), a beef salad, a small fried vegetables in oyster sauce and the steamed sea bass. The soup was served first and that was just perfect. Super-fresh made, the cocossoep with chicken from the menu was top. Nice and soft with a little different taste tones. The other 2 soups were nice and spicy, with room for many vegetables. Vegetables and Thai cuisine is a must. The Thai meatballs tasted very yummy with a tasty crunchy crust, the spring rolls were a little flat. This was more than made up by the meal that was put on the table. I'm not going to describe them here, it was just top. Hence the first 10 that I have given in my reviews! Eetcafe Thiailand is an absolute must. Make a reservation in advance because it is rather busy. Thatâs no surprise with such dishes!
Where to eat Greek food in Barendrecht: The Best Restaurants and Bars

In this relatively small tapas bar you can enjoy some well prepared tapas in true Spanish style. Especially the chef's choice for two persons can be truly recommended. Starters are nice variety of cheese, serano, tuna and other small tasters. Well tasting salmon and a beauty of a piece of steak. Nice wines complete the dinner from cava, through muscat desert wine.

This Greek restaurant serves very good plates of all kinds of meat, well coocked and grilled. And the side dressing of salade and tzaziki are delicious. They suit well together. Prices are not to high certainly in relation to the quality of the dishes.
