Critically acclaimed as the best Thai restaurant in the Netherlands by some. So, as Thailand connoisseurs I decided to surprise my girlfriend and check it out.It smelt good, when we entered. Meaning that they spices used where most definitely Thai. Always a good sign. Just as the fact that I was promptly served a small bowl of fish sauce and red and green chilly peppers when I asked for prik nam pla. You know you're in a good Thai restaurant when that happens. We started with tod nam pla (fish cakes) and spring rolls. They where very, very good.But...Service was very average. Two young member of staff (both non Thai) didn't have an clue about what Thai culture, food or what they where doing. They where simply 'waiting tables'. One member of staff wanted to take my bowl of prik nam pla away, as it wasn't finished yet after our starter. Of course it wasn't finished. It's a side dish called prik nam pla! The wait between starter and main was too lon, without any explanation or any apologies. The spices used where very good. Thai basil and strong coriander. The paneng curry however, was advertised as spicy. But it most certainly wasn't. Being a mild spicy dish in Thailand, I ate a very good paneng kai in the south of Thailand which was about ten times more spicy then this one. Girlfriend had phad ped kai, which was good. But not spicy at all. I know a Thai restaurant in the Netherlands where 'spicy' means 'spicy', just like Thailand. Very disappointing that these dishes weren't spicy at all. I'd say that someone who orders prik nam pla, would be getting a spicy dish when advertised so.Prices a bit on the high side for the service given. So, was the food good? Yes. But the best Thai restaurant in the Netherlands? Certainly not.

This is a relatively new take away, next to the fuel station and close to the railway station. The food is good value, and authentic, although the rijstafel is a little limited.Call up beforehand if you have a big order, otherwise you have to queue, and then sit and wait. The service is a little uneven. When I was there, I could see my order waiting for me, but had to wait whilst a new customer spent ages deciding what she wanted to buy from the server, and two other members of staff chatted away happily to one another out of sight behind a wall. They only do take away, and there is nowhere to sit and wait. The only chair in the place is generally occupied by a gentleman who seems to be the owner or manager.

Who would think that the best Rijsttafel to be found would be in the little village of Voorschoten, outside of Leiden. We found this restaurant through our hotel concierge while we were staying in at The Holiday Inn in Leiden. We expected nothing much at all.We were very pleased and surprised when the owner came over to the table and proceeded to bring out the biggest and most delicious Rijsttafel we have ever had. Every dish was freshly made, every dish was expertly spiced. There were at least 25 dishes on the table. Since we had no idea if the Rijsttafel would be any good, we also ordered duck. The two of us finished almost the entire Rijsttafel. The owner, who speaks perfect English, was the perfect hostess. If you are in the Leiden area, come here. If you sneeze you will miss the restaurant, but hold your sneeze, because the food is excellent. They also do take out, and had we known about this place sooner, we would have come here every night during our week's stay in Leiden.

Friendly service from mainly Cantonese staff (but Mandarin, Cantonese, Dutch and English are all spoken). Ambience is a little shabby, but the food is great, the kitchen will prepare however you like your food, and the price is low. Our favourite source for takeaways. Especially recommend the crispy duck (Wor Show Ap), and the Joy King prawns.

Having lived in Bangkok for many years and experienced the delights of Thai food, here at Siri Thai you can enjoy the wonderful food cooked to perfection by the Thai owner in person. Inside dining is somewhat restricted however there are outside tables during the fine weather but whatever you do BOOK a table to avoid disappointment. This venue is a must for lovers of Thai cuisine. Enjoy

This INDIA WAY restaurant in Leiden was again advised by our youngest daughter, while she works there for RIKSJA TRAVEL and we were visiting her. The owner, for already 30 years, and his young son, were serving and advising us what to try that evening, outside on the big terrace: great shrimps Biryani, veggie Panner Korma, and Tandoori grilled Lam Tikka. All with 3 different rices and vegetables. A garlic Nan accompanying. We have eaten very tastfull Indian food, could not finish it all, but were very pleased to have learned something new of the Indian kitchen. With some refreshment drinks like cola light, bitter lemon and a dark Leffe, we paid 78,50 â¬. Parking not so far in the main street nearby.Owner, his son and owner's brother are very engaged to serve quality and deserve to return once.

Pure ingredients, full of flavor, are key at Suzie's & Van Aken's. "As a Chef and Patissier we work with products whose origin and quality are known to us. Combinations of taste are prepared for you with the utmost precision and attention. Enjoy a culinar
An eight month old hidden jewel worthy of a Michelin Star. The ingredients are real premium . An innovative cuisine yet sublet and flavorful taste, small and very attentive service I could feel the passion in the food preparation if they they keep that passion a flare soon they will be Michelin rated. I enjoyed every bit it of the experience and I would definitely skip any of the nearby rated restaurants to repeat this dinner.

Atmosphere was smoky from the nearby kitchen. Very busy even midweek evening. Authentically spicy, but not as "clean" tasting as the real item. Good sized portions. They delivered us the wrong choice, but quickly got the right order (wrong table or recooked very quickly ?)

Lunchroom 2.0. From a regular koffie till an Asian teaexperience. Homemade rustique mediteranean sandwich to some culinary dishes. From a bonbon to a 1 person applepie. Foodlovers will love this place.
Charming, little place in the center of Voorschoten. We had the mozzarella/avocado/tomato salad which is not your usual salad Caprese, both in taste and presentation (5*), and a warm pastrami sandwich that was excellent. Unfortunately, they had run out of the chocolate cake. Come early or make a reservation.
