Probably built as a Royal Hunting lodge & very much a stately home since the 16th century, Great Fosters is now a hotel, awarded 4 red stars by the AA. Set in 50 acres of gardens & parkland, the hotel is a Grade One listed building blessed with the grandeur of 16th century England & luxurious facilities. Its past is evident in the mullioned windows, chimneys & fireplaces, while the Saxon moat, crossed by a Japanese bridge, surrounds three sides of a formal garden. The 56 bedrooms are individually decorated. Rooms in the Main House are adorned with tapestries & antiques, while the bedrooms in The Cloisters & Coach House are more contemporary. The hotel has two restaurants - The Estate Grill holds 2 AA rosettes & serves a simple seasonal menu with many dishes using produce grown on the estate. The Tudor Room holds a Michelin star & 4 AA rosettes & is an intimate restaurant open for lunch & dinner Wednesday - Saturday. The summer months bring dining al fresco and the hotel has plenty of terraces on which to enjoy afternoon tea, lunch or supper whilst overlooking beautiful gardens. Great Fosters has heated outdoor pool (open April - October) complete with 1930s listed bathing huts and three treatment rooms.
We held our 21st Birthday celebrations at Great Fosters in May and the venue team were amazing. Welcoming 200 guests on a fantastical festival themed journey of entertainment, dancing, glitter and fun, they gave us free reign to create something just that little bit different. Great Fosters provided arrival drinks, a full bar service, an array of bowl food including cheeseburger sliders, pulled pork burrito bowls, falafel wraps, berry Eton mess and churros with chocolate sauce which were delicious. To keep guests re-fuelled as the evening went on, they also supplied fresh pizza’s which were fab. We had lots of surprise entertainment going on throughout the evening and a VIP guest performing at midnight - Great Fosters were so accommodating to our requests and their level of discretion was superb. Food service on the night was swift, staff were super friendly and nothing was too much trouble. A big thank you to all the Great Fosters team for helping us put on such a fantastic night for our clients!

Nestled in the heart of the Hampshire countryside, Tylney Hall Hotel is a Victorian-era mansion house that exudes luxury and a sense of old world charm. With its sweeping tree-lined driveway, spectacular grounds and serene lakes, Tylney has earned a reputation as Hampshire’s most romantic retreat. Originally built as a private mansion house, this Grade II listed building combines the magnificence of a bygone era, with the luxurious facilities of a modern hotel. All 113 exquisite bedrooms are individually-styled with knock-out views of the 66-acre beautifully-manicured grounds. Tylney is also home to the award-winning Oak Room Restaurant, recently names 'The Best Restaurant in Hampshire' at Bookatable Diner Awards 2018. Along with two elegant lounges and the newly-refurbished Library Bar, there is also a Health Suite with both indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools.
A little bird I spoke to recently told me that they wish there was a kindness virus that could spread its magic on people. Kindness, wherever you find it, transforms anyone and places them somewhere heavenly. Yes, this place is beautiful, ornate ceilings, wonderful features in the lounge areas, wonderful rooms (catering to a variety of needs), gardens with fountains, flowers and birds chirping, but what sets this place apart is the caring attitude of almost every staff member. To name just a few of these wonderful people Anna and Weisa who served our high quality dinner, Sergio who served our breakfast and aimed and delivered perfection, Richard who looked after us during the Jubilee afternoon tea. Giovanni, the Concierge who catered to our every need. A lovely lady at the reception, clearly had an eye for style as well and helped a family member choose jewellery to buy in the cabinet. This is the perfect place to “get away from it all” and just connect with life, away from stress, especially the city. Breakfast, afternoon tea and supper are all tasty and have add on/side options, so there is plenty of choice, I would recommend the morning porridge which had cream, raspberries and walnuts, the cake of the day in the lounge and the Duck egg with chips and bernaise sauce for dinner. The pea soup was also superb, There is plenty of choice for vegans as well. When you consider all the time, effort, quality of place, kind people and tasty, elaborate food, this place is really a hidden gem and costs far less than other five star quality places. Well done for achieving this very high standard during such difficult times.

The Broadway park is a former Victorian mansion house, once home to a wealthy entrepreneur. Today this handsome hotel retains many of its original features and is set within four acres of picturesque grounds. The gardens are home to a variety of wildlife including rare Isle of Wight Red Squirrels, foxes and badgers. This is the perfect setting to get away and relax and you are always assured of a warm welcome. The hotel has three comfortable lounges and a recently refurbished ballroom in which to enjoy the regular evening entertainment. The leisure facilities include a snooker room and there is also parking within the grounds. Whilst here you are sure to enjoy the tranquillity of the setting but it is just a 15 minute walk to the town centre and seafront where there is plenty to see and do.
My partner and I booked this hotel through Booking.com admittedly last minute. The room was nothing like the pictures shown, it turns out they had overbooked and juggled rooms around to accommodate. After complaining to the hotel manager he did refund one of the two nights booked, admitting there had been major problems with the booking system, but we would have much preferred the room we had booked. The place looks very tired, dirty and run down, the bedroom carpet was very heavily stained.(see pics) Sorry I couldn’t bring myself to look at the mattress hence we slept on top of the bed. At breakfast the food was passable but there was a dead decomposed fly on the table and it was quite obvious it hadn’t been sat at for sometime. The window sill next to our table had at least 5 dead flies on it too and when pointed out to staff he said ‘oh dear that’s not good’ it had been cleaned the following morning, thankfully we were shown to another table. (Sorry no pics as phone left in the room) The lifts to the upper floors were out of order. Most of the hotel occupants were elderly and found it impossible to climb four flights of stairs. We did feel we were holidaying at Faulty Towers! Not recommend to the faint hearted! We certainly will not be returning. Booking.com have also been informed as the hotel desk manager tried to say the pictures they show are generic suggesting they were falsely advertising ..

Just returned back from our chorus retreat weekend at Milton House. We've had a fantastic weekend, all our needs catered for. Ben looked after us and is a credit to the business working extremely long hours! Robbie on the bar was great too. Thank you to the team there for making our retreat weekend relaxing and enjoyable. Would highly recommend especially to any large groups.

Situated right on the coast of the west Solent, Norton Grange is a stunning coastal village perfect for enjoying a relaxing break. While this Resort has modern facilities, there's a range of traditional seaside attractions to make each day go with a swing. Midweek and Weekend breaks inclusive of breakfast and 3-course dining, live evening entertainment and extensive leisure activities.
Just returned after weeks break at this Warners Hotel. Having previously stayed at Cricket St Thomas was expecting great things but very disappointed. Paid for chalet upgrade to premier ha joke. Toilet didn’t flush had to flush at least 4 times to remove toilet paper. 2 near empty shower gel tubes and no shampoo tube at all only conditioner and body balm didn’t take any as advertised hotel to provide these extras. Hair dryer very weak. Bathroom tiles missing over toilet and grout orange round bath in places. Don’t think toilet was cleaned properly from previous occupant. Bathroom mirror cleaned during our stay more smeared than before. However bed was very comfortable. First night dinners were cold but so hungry didn’t complain would have done if this continued thankfully it didn’t and rest of food was excellent. All staff were very helpful and our waiter was excellent. General overall felt the whole complex needed a massive renovation and update.

This superbly accommodating Character Hotel is set on Hayling Island, just a hop across the Solent from the Isle of Wight. The hotel offers everything you need for a truly memorable break, from tennis and archery, to croquet, boules and bowls. Midweek and Weekend breaks inclusive of breakfast and 3-course dining, live evening entertainment and extensive leisure activities.
This was our wedding anniversary celebration - our room was lovely and clean; the choice of dishes on the evening menu was very good and the evening entertainment was great. The hotel is in a great location by the sea and although the weather was a little disappointing the organised daytime activities made up for this. We were especially impressed by Alyson and James on the Entertainment Team and also Helen, our waitress, looked afterus very well.
