I had visited another Shoney's in SC and I expected the same great meal! It was busy which to me a good sign of good food but I stand corrected! There were ample amounts of salad fixings, fried chicken, mac and cheese, BBQ ribs, cabbage, baked beans, potato salad, etc. I expected more green vegetables. The best was the cabbage! My granddaughter orders cheeseburger sliders that were unacceptable and we were not charged and fries. The staff and service was great and friendly! Having the manager adjust our check was excellent.

We came because she had a free meal coupon due to her birthday. Ordering at their counter was easy and the food was tasty and promptly delivered to our table. The meals were very good. The restaurant was mostly clean, table tops were clean as well as the seats. The only two negatives were the bathroom door on the men's room needs work. You must throw the bolt to get it to lock while you are inside and the door is damaged. There used to be another door that separated the restroom area (men's & ladies) from the dining area but that has been removed.Secondly when I asked about the "Free Wi-Fi" that used to be displayed on the street-side marquee I was told "we don't have that anymore".

The only reason I gave this place a 2 is because there service/servers were very nice. We've been here twice, the first time I ordered the ribeye (med-rare) and it came out well done. Showed the manager and she apologized. Said we would be back. Things happen.Second time, got the prime rib (med rare) also came out well done. I heard one of the servers saying the kitchen bothched something the first time they cooked the prime rib, so that means this was the second one they cooked for us. We already had a ton of apologies for the wait. So to compensate they gave us burnt hush puppies (yes they were black all the way around).C'mon on, if you don't know how to cook steaks, don't cook em. Cannot recommend this place to anybody and won't be back. Maybe in a year if their cooks know how to do what they do.

Service was fast to bring us our drinks and take orders. We chose hibachi dining around the grill over table service. We had a party of four adults and two under six. {We had called for reservations} The soup was hot and very chickeny; the salad arrived pretty soon thereafter. The grill chef arrived and flamed some sake or oil that thoroughly delighted the children and made them turn their heads due to the intensity of the display. Nice!He prepared the vegetables first and served them, as we were munching on them he cracked several eggs and fried rice into a large pile. Amazingly he took ginger sauce and made lines on the grill a nose and smile on the rice then added two limes for eyes on Japanese SpongeBob, cute. I had the New York strip steak which is cut naturally in bite size pieces for eating with chopsticks if that's how you like to do it. She had the salmon, which was quite a large fillet about 1/2 inch tall and a 6 inch by 6 inch size.He plated the rice on our plates and the steak and fish followed shortly. My son my DIL and grandchildren had some steak and a sushi platter that they devoured with relish. It was nice to see the four year old eating sushi rather than refusing to try new things. Styrofoam clamshell take-out boxes were requested and arrived. All the adults left with one which I am sure will be a complete meal for each later.Overall if you like (love) the freshest sushi in the Orangeburg area you will not go wrong here. The steak and fish were excellent as well. The restrooms were very clean which is one of the items I am strict on in rating any restaurant. If you want to sit around the grill as a group I would recommend you call first and make a reservation.

I ordered steamed shrimp, and salmon to go. The order included seasoned vegetables. When I opened the container I discovered I had a large amount of fresh shrimp with salmon and vegetables with a tasty seasoning that were in a bag. It was a great meal. It was so good I went back the next night. This place doesn't have the usual seating. There is one table for dinning most of the customers are order food to go.

We drove by here for dinner based on the reviews, and gave it a try based on the sheer volume of cars in the parking lot. Figured the locals know where to eat, and boy were they right! We were lucky enough to be served by Brianna, who is the epitome of southern charm, making our meal all that more memorable. She recommended the homemade broccoli quiche (on the menu every day) which turned out to be an excellent choice. The portions were generous enough to require take home containers.Thank you for the kind words. We have passed them on to Brianna and she was happy to hear the sweet things you said about her! (we think she is pretty special too!). We hope you join us again
