Stopped in while cycling around Port Royal. Really great pizza; I realize pizza is regional, so I'll add that this is classic northeastern style. The name has it right: if you grew up in New York or New Jersey, this pizza tastes like home. We enjoyed slices of regular cheese, but the stromboli that were made-to-order looked fantastic. The man who served us was friendly and suggested other places to ride in the area. This looked like the place to be in Port Royal on our visit! We'll be back for more, and hope to delve a lot deeper into the menu.

Only two other tables with customers, we arrived mid afternoon. Ordered the hamburger, because can't eat garlic, server returned to table and said they were out of hamburgers. She knew I couldn't eat garlic, she had checked to see if all their pizza sauces contained garlic, yes. Plan b, ordered shrimp salad grinder. One bite told me the grinder was loaded with garlic. I've got to say it was delicious, I just couldn't eat it. Daughter had a calzone and it had very little sauce or garlic. It took about an hour to get our food. During that time, I did notice at least 5 people come in to pick up to go pizzas, guess they were working on those. She did give us a discounted ticket.

Located in the historic Beaufort bank building. Panini's is a delightful blend of old world Italian charm and new world cuisine. We adapt our menu seasonally to feature only the freshest local ingredients. Unique and crispy Stone-Baked Pizza, Panini sandw
My family enjoyed their panini- seafood and steak. I was not too lucky with the chicken Marsala. It was dry and the garlic mashed potatoes had no garlic and were the equivalent of TV dinner potatoes. Caesar Salad was drenched in dressing, ask for it on the side. If you like sweet seafood you might like the calamari- it is really sweet with the almond crust. Service was ok- waitress was nice, front check in were not friendly.

We decided to stay in and have Piace Pizza delivered for the evening. OMG, so good! We had caesar salads and two medium pizzas delivered by the kindest pizza guy ever. Great Service and Food!

Inventive Eclectic wood-fired pizza served along with hearty Italian dishes, craft beers & wine in a sleek historic setting.
This place was lovely in all aspects - flooring, furniture, walls, oven, and art. The pizza was good too. Beer selection was limited and there were no local beers on the list (even though the Beaufort area has some great breweries). White wine selection and prices were reasonable. Red wines were over-priced. The service was "okay."I was on crutches and slipped on the way to the table because of rain water on the floor near the doorway. The host noticed but was unconcerned and gave no help in getting seated and finding a place for my crutches. The waitress was likewise indifferent. No southern pleasantries or common courtesies by anyone we encountered. They seemed to be just escorting bodies through without treating them like people. My final comment is on the menu. Every pizza with protein (with the exception of possibly one) had pork. One of the people in my party was Jewish, so that limited the pizza selection to 2 choices: margarita or mushroom. If you are a kosher-observing Jew, I suggest reviewing the menu before going.

Griffin Market brings relaxed elegance and a taste of Italyâs Piedmont region to the lowcountry of South Carolina. Situated on Carteret Street in historic downtown Beaufort, the restaurant features the culinary and wine expertise of Laura and Riccardo Bon
This place does not look like a 5 star restaurant from the outside. Looks are deceiving. Do the right thing and get 3 courses. We started with the Melanzana because my wife loves eggplant. The honey is a creative twist and the dish delish. Other appetizer was Insalata di Mare which was a plate full of fresh shellfish in a vinaigrette. It was an explosion of flavor and texture. On to Primi. One dish had a wide noodle with peas, tomatoes and bacon, one had a tubular pasta with sausage in a thick tomato sauce. Both were superb. Next was Secondi. The steak was cooked a perfect medium rare. It was tender but not mushy and not too salty. The only dish that did not hit it out of the park was a seafood stew which was good but not as spectacular as the other 5 dishes.
