My first visit. Very busy around 6 on a Tuesday evening. Found a place at the bar. Menu is archetype pub grub, what stands out are their take on burgers. I went for the smokehouse, with pulled pork. Actually I didn’t expect this to be pulled pork ON TOP of a regular burger but truth be told, that weird combination worked extremely well. The burger was a perfect medium rare, which most pubs don’t get right. Didn’t care much for the bacon, it’s crunchy texture didn’t play well with the softness of the meats. I had the house salad instead of fries, which was forgettable. Broad selection of craft beers, with, alas, a strong bias toward IPAs, just when I thought folks had finally moved on from their inexplicable obsession with IPAs. Service was okay. Noise level high. My rating is driven by the quality of the burgers. Otherwise the joint didn’t really connect with me.

Had lunch at Wingz and ale a few weeks back. We were looking for wings and beer and were told this was the best. The wings were good but not spectacular. A little on the small side. Nice selection of beers and attentive bar staff. quite a few characters in the bar as it is a regulars joint. would definitely stop back if I happen to pass thru again.

have eaten here 3 times in last 2 months, first meal was very good, second visit was horrible. ordered the brisket off the specialtys and it was 70% fat and not much meat. to their credit they warned us after we ordered that they were running low and offered another item along with what brisket they had. had to give them another chance and got the prime rib it was fantastic. we will keep coming hopefully no more bad meals.

The Applebee's staff were not only super friendly but it was the only Applebee's meal that we have ever had that was perfect the first time. We are from the Phildelphia area and were originally bummed that this was the only place open to eat dinner. We had to choice so this is where we went. Food was perfectly cooked. Best burger we've had a long time! We highly recommend the Applebee's in Hartsville! Two thumbs up for food, service and hospitality!
