Took my cousin from out of town here. We love Thai food. This place is so small and it was at lunch time. Too crowded and no one knew what was going on. They served us a small bowl of broth. Most Thai restaurants give you a spring roll also. Then they handed us a small menu with a few things to choose from. The food was pretty good but we sat and waited for our bill and my cousin left a tip on the table. We finally went up front and a little boy was running the register. Looked to be about 10. We told him what we had and he couldn't find our bill. I used my debit card and paid and started to leave. My cousin told him we put the tip on the table. He said to put it in the jar next to the register. As we were walking out, I heard someone saying "Hey lady!" I turned around and he said I had left my debit card in the machine, which I had not. After he figured out I was not the one, he said "Never mind lady, go on." I did not like him and the way he spoke to me. They don't need to have a child running the register. We will not be going back.
The Sakura Japanese is a converted Pizza Hut. You order at a counter, selecting from a menu of Teriyaki and Hibachi meat entres (served with rice and vegetables), sushi and some appetizers. Beverages are self-serve, and when ready, your food is brought to the table, which you bus yourself at the end of the meal. Everything was clean and in good order.I had the hibachi filet and an eel roll. I ordered the fillet medium rare. Since I was using chop sticks, I didn't tear the meat open to see how it was cooked, but it seemed to be a little overcooked, and the meat was somewhat tough. The broccoli was overcooked (burnt on the edges), what little there was of it. I'd never had an eel roll before, but it was certainly nothing special, The wasabi was impotent. It wasn't a bad trip, and the food was OK, but it's not a place I will visit often even though it's very close to home.
Where to eat Asian food in Duncan: The Best Restaurants and Bars
The food was very good but the restaurant needed a good cleaning. There were cobwebs we could not see coming in but going out the sun reflected on them. The staff was polite and efficient. The bathroom door needs a new lock that really works; had to hold it closed. No one got sick and the place was quite busy so I guess it is an okay place to eat.

we dined with a family group and enjoyed our visit. Everything we ordered was well prepared and tasty. Fried shrimp crab cake calamari fried green tomatoes kids burger were all good. Our server was friendly but hampered a little bit by a slow kitchen. Overall very good reasonable prices and will return
