Sweetwater Cafe, an under the radar masterpiece. Nothing flashy at all about Sweetwater, it's has that simple, homey local breakfast/lunch spot, it's the tortoise with tons of hare's around it, but I'll tell you what, don't let it's looks mislead you, Sweetwater Cafe is a winner. Location is incredible, 1/2 block from the main entrance to the City Market right across the street from the Belmond Charleston Place Hotel (very swanky) and right between King Street and Meeting Street, it's in the heart of the city. You walk in and they have a handful pictures of legendary entertainers from the 50s and 60s and it even has that feel a little bit, with bright red cushioned seats. Sweetwater Cafe (SWC) was popping with customers, which is always a good sign and the price for Charleston is phenomenal when your not wanting to break the bank on every meal, but want something local to Charleston. The service was fantastic and they serve breakfast no matter the time of day. SWC does have a southern style menu, so if your not use to that (because your from the North like me), then each item on the menu has something a little unique that will stand out. This was the place I dove into the Southern way full speed ahead, because everything I saw being brought out was making my mouth water, it all looked so good, so I went for the biscuits and gravy southern style and was so happy I did, those biscuits are not like biscuits you get up north. I don't know how they can be so much different they look the same. But really I went fo the southern meal, because Sweetwater just seem to have that local flair, no touristy flavor to it what so ever, so I thought I'd get real, down-home southern comfort and I sure did. Sweetwater was a great find in the middle of downtown Charleston, we love that it didn't have the touristy touch as many of the others spots in this area, we would for sure go back again.

Since opening in 2009, Sunrise has been satisfying hungry passers-by with simple, comforting food made with care and without pretension - like mom might make. There are favorites for breakfast (until 11:30 a.M.) Like french toast, enchiladas rancheros, ho
Loved the chicken and waffles after waiting 37 minutes. Hubby had the shrimp and grits add chirizo which he loved. Great food, long wait.We are so sorry. Recently had some turnover and are doing the best we can to get things back on track. Try us again if you can. Thanks again.

Weâre an eclectic Breakfast and Lunch Cafe on Folly Beach, SC. We use locally fresh ingredients when possible. Our coffee is roasted locally by King Bean, and our Breads and Pastries are nakedness by Ashley Bakery.
We visited for breakfast and could eat outside with our pups. Best cheese grits I ever ate, everyone else liked theirs too! I had to stop and get a sandwich to go to the beach and had the Surferâs healing with falafel, it was really delicious. I got a seasonal pumpkin frappe and it was delightful. Just seems they close down outside sitting in any wind or chance of rain or we would of ate there again. Putting their sticker on my Jeep to remember it!

Friends and I were here for dinner on a Friday evening and had a lovely time. The seating is very limited -- so be sure to book a table before you go. It would be a romantic date-night destination, and the food is fabulous, too! When we dined, East Bay was still offering their $39 Restaurant Week menu, which featured choice of appetizer, entree and dessert, with a salad and an intermezzo (fruity sorbet as a palate-cleanser). Fabulous deal! We had the Prosciutto-Wrapped asparagus and Gorgonzola fig terrine as starters; Beef Bourginon, Chicken Fantine and Shrimp Scampi for main; and Le Chocolat and Creme Brulee for dessert -- so we had a good sampling of the menu. Everything was delicious!Charleston offers a wonderful and diverse slate of dining options, and this one is one of the best we had when we were in town. Highly recommend it! Will definitely visit again. (The only downside I noticed was a wall-mounted TV in a corner. Kind of a buzz-kill; but if you sit facing the door or windows, you won't see it.)

Fantastic sweet and savory crepes in a hip little grocery store on Queen street that highlights Charleston's culture. The staff was super cool and friendly. We got there early in the morning, so we had a lot of time to talk with them. Can't wait to try try their lunch. Their prices are very reasonable. We bought a few food souvenirs while we were there. The store has a very well-stocked beer cave with local, state and international craft beers.

Our last day in Charleston our be and breakfast hotel gave a voucher instead of breakfast, so we popped into Millerâs All Day for breakfast on a Monday about 8:30 am. What a lovely restaurant, friendly staff and delicious breakfast! I chose the shrimp and grits, which was the best I ever had, my husband had a tasty frittata, and the coffee was strong and great. Our initial apprehension turned to delight at the option and we will definitely keep Millerâs on the list for our return visits to Charleston

This was our first time to Charleston with a group of 4 couples. We travel around a lot and like to eat, drink, take in the city sites and have fun. The hotel recommended we try five loaves for lunch. The food was fabulous, but for some reason the service was just not right. It felt like they just wanted us to eat and run. We would have stayed and kept visiting, eating and drinking, but we left.Hi Phil, We are so sorry to hear about you feeling rushed while visiting our restaurant. That's certainly not what we like to hear! It was not our intention and hopefully you can give us another chance next time you're in town. We're so pleased to hear you enjoyed the food! Thanks again for visiting us and we hope you had a great visit in Charleston.

Basic Southern food at its finest. High quality, tasty, presented in a homey environment by a very friendly staff. We arrived about 1:30 for lunch, hoping that it would be a bit cleared out and the wait not too long. We got there just a bit too soon. We waited about 30 minutes, but I think if weâd arrived 30 minutes later they wouldnât have been a wait.I had an excellent shrimp dish with a healthy portion of shrimp and had a wide range of choices for my two sides, at least 20. The tomato pie and marinated cucumbers and tomatoes were both excellent. My daughter had a âhamburger saladâ, also a good choice, and my wife had the barbecue plate, again good and generously sized.Iced tea and water and included in the meal and soft drinks available as an extra. Iâll go out of my way to go back. What a nice review, thanks! We're glad you enjoyed it.

This was my 12 year old daughter's FAVORITE restaurant ever on our trip. Here is what she says:"If I made a restaurant it would be this. They had something yummy for everyone. Also it was decorated with dogs."My edits: She literally could not decide between menu items and she is normally a picky eater but somehow this place had all her favorites. Our (adult) dishes were also really good. Service was better than expected for such a busy place. The sweet tea is lovely. And the theme is adorable. Loved this place.
