We walked up the long pier after a day on the water seeking a cold beer and a decent burger. What we found was disappointment in every category. First the outside seating was dirty. The wait/bus staff apparently do not care what the place looks like and the health department has not been there in a while. My partner ordered a burger and paid extra for French fries which were a disgrace. The burger, obviously frozen, was over done and dry. I ordered a taco salad which would have been satisfactory had the contents been hot. The waitress was on her first day so getting answers to questions was understandably difficult. But how difficult is it to have a list of available beers? Smokers and patrons with dogs peopled the outside tables. The inside is dreary. I would suggest finding an alternative choice of a place to eat.

After visiting this âtavernâ I read some of the reviews about the poor service. I completely disagree. You actually must have service for it to be poor. There is no service here. We walked in and sat at a table in the middle of the place in clear view of the front desk, the bar, and actually everyone in the place. Five minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 20 minutes. We couldnât even get eye contact with anyone. We saw no one. Oh but wait, when we left there were two other staff members talking to themselves at the front door. While we canât comment on the food, we can comment on the overall environment. Everything about it looks thrown together and cheap. One of those places that literally can pack up and be gone in an hour. I agree with another reviewer who said it was dirty and dull. If thatâs cool with you, go enjoy. But you have been duly warned.

Wren Bistro and Bar is a locally owned and operated restaurant and bar that features an ever evolving menu for both lunch and dinner. The kitchen uses delicious locally caught seafood, great cuts of steak, juicy chicken, and tasty pasta dishes. The portio
We live in Beaufort and give Wren a try every couple of years hoping they will get it together, but I just don't think it will ever happen. It's like a restaurant in the Atlanta airport - it stays in business because of people passing through (tourists). It they had to depend on locals, it would have closed years ago. Today's twisted caesar salad had cabbage in it - now that's quite a twist, and I have a hard time understanding how anyone could think cabbage belongs in a caesar. I doubt it was "artistic license" on the part of the chef; more likely, just some slacker tossing whatever green stuff they could find in the bowl. The only thing caesar about that salad was the dressing. My dining companion's fish and chips would be more appropriately named breading and chips. Another's chicken sandwich was just OK. I think we are truly done there. Beaufort has too many other choices now. Chik Fil A beats Wren by a mile in terms of food, service, absolutely everything! Next time, we will go there and save a ton of money and have a really good lunch.

This is a great little "convenience" store attached to the City Loft Hotel. You can get a very good cuppa Joe made by a Barista and a fresh Scone, or a hand tapped beer and a bag of chips. You can also catch up on the latest news (and gossip) from the locals who frequent this shop and keep the barista busy each morning. This is a very good sign.

This is such a delicious restaurant, with great atmosphere, and even greater service. We had the crab cakes, fried shrimp, pasta, and fried oysters, and of course hush puppies. We eat seafood all the time since we are from Charleston SC, and everyone in our group agreed that this restaurant has some of the best seafood we have ever had. Our server was excellent. Prices are very reasonable. Can't wait to go back!!

Excellent BBQ, also had stuffed potato that was very good. Reasonably priced and good service. The waitresses were very friendly even though they were quite busy. Recommend getting there early for lunch.

While we were waiting for my nephew's graduation on the island, we decided to stop here for dinner. It was good! The burgers were all a bit overcooked, but delicious. The list of toppings and such was unmatched as far as anything I've seen before. Their suggestions were great too. I only wish we had room for a milkshake because those looked awesome! Our server Josh was really great too. Nice personality, easy to talk to, and fairly knowledgeable for only being there a short time.If I find myself in S. Carolina again, I'll be back.

Good selection of primarily seafood, but also burgers that looked awesome. Entrees and sandwiches had some original offerings. Companion had a veggie and grits plate , which is a little unique. Good selection of appetizers and soups. Didn't get to dessert, which are supposed to be good also.
