Chicken Salad Chick

To be honest my first visit to Chicken Salad Chick right after they opened was not a good one: the salads I had contained several pieces of gristle. However, I've been a few more times since then and have had good experiences. While they get very busy at lunch time, they seem to be efficient at getting food out quickly. The salads and sides are fresh and offer a nice alternative to a burger and fries. Meals now even come with a cookie and a pickle! Yum!

Maybe we just lucked up, but our waitress was great. Enjoyed eggs over easy, sausage patty, grits, grilled bisquit, and side of bacon. My son enjoyed eggs, pancakes, sausage. Good coffee. really enjoyed even waiting 15 minutes for a table. We’re so happy you had an egg-cellent visit with us! When our guests take the time to let us know they’ve enjoyed their experience, it really makes our day. Please come see us again soon!

Hudson's Smokehouse BBQ

Reviewed By 2Dox

Their BBQ is usually very good or we wouldn’t have eaten there or bought takeout from them so many times. However, BBQ chicken=fried chicken??? I don’t think so! We have bought takeout dinners for groups of friends at Hudson’s many times and they always seem to have at least one or two minor mixups. This last time ( and it will be our last ) 7 dinners of BBQ chicken turned out to be FRIED chicken when we opened the boxes. Unfortunately, we were at our friend’s home 18 miles away on Lake Murray before we discovered the error. I heard my wife distinctly order breast and wing white meat BBQ chicken dinners. Several of our friends had dietary restrictions, my wife NEVER eats fried foods and we had to scramble for something to eat. When I called to complain, I was put on hold for a while and then told that the breast and wing dinners only come fried. I said that they should have told my wife at the time of the order. They responded that we should have ordered ”smoked” white meat chicken and implied that it was our fault that we didn’t get what we wanted. I told them that was unacceptable and I expected some consideration on the bill. After another long hold while the issue was discussed with management, I was told the they would only deduct the cost difference between the smoked and fried chicken from our bill. What an insult! They should have comped most of the bill since the only thing they got right was most of the side items. If your restaurant has BBQ in its name and someone orders takeout BBQ, should you not at least attempt to regain some good will by taking responsibility for giving them fried instead of BBQ? Oops, I forgot- we should have asked for “smoked”. We have spent hundreds of dollars at Hudson’s, but they won’t get any more business from us because of their poor attitude towards repeat customers. Perhaps I will challenge any charges from them when my charge card bill comes in.

I was recently at Private Property for dinner. This was a very cute restaurant inside. The menu had a nice selection of drinks, appetizers & entrees. We opted for the cajun egg rolls, shrimp étouffée & a fabulous blackened filet that was butter tender & cooked to perfection. The sides of mashed potatoes & green beens were wonderful too. Service was a bit out of sync & could use some training but overall it was a lovely atmosphere & great food.

I thought 1100 was too early to meet for lunch, but I was wrong. If you don't get here early, you're gonna be waitin'. The sandwiches and freshly made chips are excellent. By the time the food arrived at our table for four, Libby's was jammed with lunchers and people waiting for takeout at the back door. The Cuban special was fantastic! The chicken sandwich is so big the chicken makes the bun scared. The wings were enormous and tasty from a loyal firsthand account. Can I just say, 'Sweet Tea'!
