We had dinner here, and it was excellent. Wonderful service, good portion size. Excellent atmosphere. Menu choices were good, so something for everyone. Outside seating was inviting, but we ate inside. We loved the decor. Great selection of local beers. I had a burger, and my husband has oysters. We were both very pleased with our meals.

This little mom & pop restaurant will put plenty on your plate for a fair price. It's like getting two for one there's so much on your plate. Eat in or take out. Right there in the bend in the road as your going through town with lots of parking even for big rigs. Seafood and American dishes also. You'll be glad you stopped.

Slater's Diner

Three of us stopped mid afternoon for lunch on our way north on the pacific coast highway. A warm welcome greeted us in this cheerful, retro diner. 50's music, a corner table full of bikers, and family groupings were part of the ambience that accompanied us as we enjoyed perfect sandwiches in this gem.

The Barge

I've been to the Barge for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It never disappoints. Now, this is your home-style cooking, not haute cuisine. The view out to the slough is beautiful. There are tablecloths, fresh flowers. Open 6 days a week (except Mondays), and right off Hwy 101 and the Carriage Museum, it's a nice, quiet, peaceful spot to eat.

River View Dining

Love, love, love this place. I love oysters and this place has some of the best that I have ever eaten- hands down. Sides especially the coleslaw were excellent. We went for the pan fried version and were delighted. Many other options available including some grilled options that looked equally good. They don’t take credit cards and it’s not fast food so grab a beer and prepare to wait a little bit but the huge outdoor grill should keep you entertained. The grill guy was just cranking up grill hen we arrived- all wood, no gas or fancy additions just straight up wood, probably alder. Smelled great. Be aware that this place is super clean but the exterior might be a bit challenging for those folks who like their dinning a bit more on the bright and shinny corporate side. Drop them off in town and come back to eat here, highly recommended.

Corner Cafe

I can only speak for two dishes on the breakfast menu. I ordered corned beef hash with eggs over easy, hashbrowns, and a biscuit. WOW. Everything was done perfectly, from the golden brown potatoes, to a super-sized portion of hash. The biscuit was one of the best I have ever had and a good 4.5" across, served halved, buttered, and toasted. This was the best breakfast I've had in years. The eggs Benedict were a 3/5. Hollandaise could have been more tart.

I saw a Monte Cristo sandwich thick with meat served up that looked and smelled inviting, even after I had finished my meal.

Super-friendly, efficient service.

Basically a bar with big windows providing an excellent view of the river. The cook prepared extremely fresh local oysters just to our liking, which made the place a true "diamond in the rought".

Amazingly special place to hang out, especially on a rainy weekend day. Stopped in for lunch to escape the afternoon rain. Visiting the area from Lincoln City. Was wearing my Vietnam Marine Corps hat and was so genuinely heartfelt greeted by both staff and locals that it brought tears to my eyes. Was so warm and friendly, so very unexpected, so natural. The food was most excellent as was the local brew. Stayed for over an hour. It felt like home. You guys are beyond compare. Thank you for your sincere handshakes and great conversation. You blew me away. Rick Anderson, Lincoln City, Oregon.
