This café is at the lower end of the town. We were served lunch surprisingly quickly considering it was a public holiday. I had a Reuben toasted corned beef, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese rye sandwich served with cole slaw. My wife had a smoked salmon and cream cheese seeded roll also with cole slaw. Both meals were tasty, filling and reasonably priced. We ate outside under the shady verandah. Couldnât find any lightly sparkling mineral water in their fridge. Suggest they stock it as the standard sparkling water doesnât suit some.

Called in for coffees and shelter on a wet and windy winterâs day. We got a cheerful welcome from the staff behind the counter. Itâs a small cosy and warming place. The coffees were fine and we look forward to returning to try their lovely looking food.

We enjoyed the seafood chowder with soda bread. The soup was filled with seafood and vegetables. The soda bread was rich and dense, the best we have had for many years. The meal was satisfying and delicious. We followed it with good coffee. I recommend The Plough, Hahndorf for lunch and coffee.

The family and I loved our lunch at this cafe. With hot dogs under $10, and options for sausages, sauerkraut, pretzel and salad plates for $14, this place is great value for money. We enjoyed choosing different sausage options, and also appreciated the gluten free bun options for the hot dogs. Highly recommended.
